ABOUT THE TEAM
Basis Technologies' Talent and Development (T&D) team works to make our organization an engaging, inclusive home for Beeps to develop their careers and create positive change in the ad tech industry. T&D is made up of four collaborative teams: Talent Acquisition (recruits top talent for Basis), Talent Operations (provides benefits, payroll, perks, and system support for Basis), Education and Development (leads training and education for Basis employees), and Talent Partners (heads up professional development, management resources, and employee relations).

Collectively, T&D is determined to bring the Basis Manifesto and guiding principles to life through our culture and practices. This team cultivates Raving Fans by constantly ideating on how to ensure every current and prospective employee receives the best experience possible.

WAYS YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
This position supports operational excellence across Talent & Development by ensuring consistent service delivery, scalable processes, and data integrity. It focuses on optimizing HR workflows through process improvement and data-driven insights, while providing day-to-day operational and technical support across HR systems. Other key responsibilities include leading compliance efforts, case management, global workforce coordination, and vendor support.

  • Oversee end-to-end case management within Workday Help, including triaging and responding to complex employee inquiries, guiding Talent Services Coordinators, and ensuring timely, accurate resolution of tickets. Partner with Talent & Development (T&D) teams to maintain consistent case handling standards. Monitor and analyze service delivery metrics—such as case trends, SLA adherence, and user feedback—through monthly and quarterly reporting to inform stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive key compliance initiatives across T&D and in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Administer annual company-wide compliance training, manage SOC-related processes, and respond to external audit requests. Ensure alignment with internal HR policies, regulatory standards, and global labor laws to mitigate risk and uphold organizational integrity.
  • Act as a strategic partner in enhancing HR systems and processes. Identify and implement improvements to streamline workflows, ensure data integrity, and leverage analytics to uncover trends and opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and elevate the quality of shared HR services. Provide day to day operational and technical support across all HR technologies. Maintain SOPs for key HR processes to ensure consistency and efficiency across Talent Services.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for international workforce management, including GEO employees and contractors. Oversee hiring, offboarding, and personnel changes in compliance with local labor laws. Coordinate compensation updates, payroll processes, and vendor invoice reconciliation to ensure operational accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead visa and work permit operations, partnering with external immigration vendors to support employee and business needs. Act as the central point of contact for immigration-related inquiries, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with evolving immigration policies and legal requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and support to the coordinator role, covering coordinator work when workload and team bandwidth dictate.
  • Assisting across T&D with ad hoc project support and requests as required. Assist with HR audits, data clean-up initiatives, testing and reporting as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in an HR Operations, HR Shared Services, or HR Generalist role.
  • Proficiency in an HRIS platform such as Workday
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thoughtful approach to collaboration, design, and decision-making that prioritizes equity, access, and continuous learning.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, respectful environments where all voices are valued and supported.

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience in a shared services or service center environment
  • Comprehensive experience across multiple HR functions, ideally in a generalist role
  • Knowledge of global labor laws, visa and work permit laws and best practices

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
