About the Role:

Taara is seeking a hardware lead responsible for bringing advanced wireless optical communication system designs from concept to product.  The candidate is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team with backgrounds including photonics, electronics, control systems and system integration.  In collaboration with other leads the engineer is responsible for architecting a cutting edge wireless optical communication system.

The position seeks highly-motivated individuals that enjoy working in a small dynamic team environment, with a passion for solving challenging problems that can lead to high-impact advances in technology.

About the Role:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary R&D hardware team developing next generation technologies. 

  • Own and drive the hardware design roadmap and hardware technical direction.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership,team management, execution, influencing skills and executive summary communication skills.

  • Responsible for hardware system design, integration and testing including supporting the building of required lab capabilities.

  • Identify and manage external contract manufacturers and vendors for rapid development and production.

  • Mentor and coach other team members 

  • Motivated by making the world a better place through technology, and wanting to be part of a team that makes this happen

What you should have:

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.

  • 10+ years of industry experience in hardware engineering 

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams 

  • Deep technical domain expertise in photonics and electronic design including understanding of the state of industry to set strategy.

  • Knowledge in high speed and mixed signal circuit design

It would be great if you also had these:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience in photonics integrated Circuit

  • Experience with embedded systems

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000 - $260,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
