As a Senior Software Engineer II at Centro, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture, design, and implementation of both internal and external user-facing products that transform how we do business. You’ll lead by example—driving technical excellence, mentoring engineers, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver scalable, high-impact software solutions. 

 

You will be responsible for designing and developing robust web applications using Golang on the backend and React with TypeScript on the frontend. Your work will directly influence product direction, engineering best practices, and the overall success of the engineering team. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services using Golang. 

  • Architect and build accessible, performant, and reusable frontend components using React with TypeScript. 

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and deliver new features that align with business goals. 

  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architectural guidance, and mentorship. 

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and bugs across the stack. 

  • Champion engineering best practices, including testing, documentation, and CI/CD. 

  • Contribute to the evolution of our technical roadmap and long-term engineering strategy. 

 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: 

 

Core Competency Requirements  

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior level role. 

  • Deep expertise in Golang and TypeScript, including experience with modern frameworks and libraries. 

  • Proven experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems and microservices. 

  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIsORMs, and web frameworks. 

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 

  • Proficiency with relational databases like PostgreSQL. 

  • Familiarity with testing strategies, frameworks, and tools. 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tooling, such as DataDog. 

 

 

 
Competency Nice to Haves 

  • Experience working in the insurance industry. 

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. 

 

Education, Training and Experience: 

 

  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong track record of technical leadership and delivering scalable software solutions. 

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex systems that solve real-world business problems. 

  • Proven experience working in Agile software development environments, with a deep understanding of iterative development and continuous improvement practices. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $180,000 to $190,000 per year

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance. We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs. You will receive reimbursement of job-related expenses per the company policy and may receive employee perks and discounts.
