Vantor is seeking a Sr. Sales and Business Development Manager for our Enterprise team to bring satellite imagery and derived geospatial solutions to market. In this role, you will focus on selling high-value "alternative data" solutions to the financial services sector and providing risk assessment and intelligence data to the insurance industry. As part of a fast-paced, high-growth environment, you will collaborate with internal and external C-suite leaders, clients, and customer prospects.
This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, sophisticated business acumen, and the ability to grow new and existing opportunities. With these skills, you will establish Vantor’s position as a premier provider of geospatial intelligence to hedge funds, asset management firms, and Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance carriers. This role will be a 50/50 split of new and existing business and is eligible to work remotely in the US.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Identify and acquire new customers in the financial services and insurance sectors by developing and implementing sales strategies, engaging in prospecting, and leading negotiations to close high-value data subscription deals.
- Manage and expand existing accounts by building strong relationships with quantitative analysts, portfolio managers, actuaries, and catastrophe modelers.
- Work closely with internal and external C-suite leaders, fostering partnerships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in the target verticals.
- Expand Vantor’s solutions by demonstrating how satellite-derived insights can generate alpha by monitoring economic activity and supply chains, and how our data can improve risk modeling for underwriting and catastrophe response.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills to communicate the value of geospatial data for applications like monitoring commodity stockpiles, assessing property risk, and verifying post-event claims to diverse stakeholders.
- Analyze market data to identify growth opportunities and develop business plans tailored to the needs of the quantitative finance and insurance industries.
- Ensure alignment of customer needs with Vantor’s solutions by preparing and presenting compelling proposals that address key industry challenges, from finding unique data sources for investment models to improving the accuracy of risk assessments.
- Monitor and report on sales metrics and key performance indicators using CRM tools, tracking sales activities, and adjusting strategies based on performance analysis and feedback.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in selling complex data products or analytical software solutions.
- Proven experience selling data solutions or enterprise software to the financial services or insurance industries.
- Understanding of "alternative data" in quantitative investment strategies.
- Knowledge of catastrophe (CAT) modeling, P&C insurance underwriting, or claims processing.
- A strong existing network within hedge funds, asset management firms, or P&C insurance carriers.
- Strong communication skills; ability to present and influence credibly at all levels of an organization, including the executive and C-level suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding quota.
- Experience selling to large customers and closing multi-million-dollar deals.
- Proven knowledge and experience managing a sales pipeline within Salesforce.
- Experience with MEDDPICC sales methodology or openness to learn.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $163,000.00 - $271,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $163,000.00 - $271,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within Delaware is: $163,000.00 - $271,000.00 annually. ● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $179,000.00 - $299,000.00 annually.● The base pay for this position within California is: $188,000.00 - $275,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
