Job Description

The Sr. Category Leadership Manager – Ahold Delhaize will be responsible for facilitating strategic category leadership initiatives with the Ahold Delhaize customer. This position supports the overall application of category management principles to business issues by identifying category business opportunities and assessing merchandising controllables, including shelf, assortment, innovation, and aisle strategy. The role also coordinates information and category management–related activities conducted in conjunction with the Customer Business Development team and the sales team.

The Sr. Category Leadership Manager is a storytelling expert, highly skilled in the use of analytical tools, who combines disparate data and insights into a comprehensive, visually impactful story and can complete the category review process with very limited supervision. In addition, the Sr. Category Leadership Manager can independently represent and explain the process to customer Buyers, customer senior management, and internal stakeholders as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify root causes of customer issues and opportunities and deliver compelling stories to drive action to address
  • Steer the local CL team, managing CL Advisors to develop personally and professionally and partner with their assigned accounts
  • Run the identification of category / customer business opportunities, develops concrete recommendations, and supports customer business teams in execution
  • Establish team customer category priorities that are consistent with goals and objectives as defined by the customer and Kraft Heinz
  • Develop impactful customer-specific category development recommendations in support of key business building initiatives
  • Expert in using multiple inputs including syndicated data, shopper card and household panel data that support compelling stories that spur business recommendations
  • Able to educate, apply, and advise on category management best practices
  • Category Leadership representative in strategic customer meetings and interaction, e.g., JVP meetings

Qualifications:

  • Strong syndicated, shopper, and panel data knowledge
  • Strong visual storyelling capabilities
  • Strong mentor and people development skills
  • Strong industry / sales knowledge with emphasis on category and space management
  • Solid organization, project management and planning skills with the ability to execute with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with frequent interaction outside of Kraft Heinz

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$120,800.00 - $151,000.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
