About this opportunity:
Within Cognitive Software Engineering, we offer the opportunity to collaborate with highly qualified teams all around the world and enable success stories for our customers.
We are seeking a manager to lead our Software Engineering Development teams. You'll be spearheading the development of our AI-centric world-class SaaS products. As a line manager, you play a critical role in the operation of the business, supervising and managing development teams and acting as a liaison between employees and higher management. Your expertise in both management & technology will be essential to lead your team to success and to promote our company's values, ethics, and culture to ensure outstanding team performance.
What you will do:
Translate Cognitive Software Engineering strategies into unit strategy and actions:
  • Oversee and provide technical leadership for the software development lifecycle
  • Translate and communicate strategic plans into local plans for the unit, setting priorities and targets
  • Manage targets and objectives for the unit and follow up on performance
  • Connect strategies with day-to-day operations, communicating how unit tasks contribute to the overarching strategies and visions

Workforce planning, Recruitment:
  • Manage and forecast the resource/competence planning in the unit
  • Recruit talent ensuring diversity, and manage onboarding of new employees
  • Participate in annual budget setting and quarterly cost forecasting
  • Follow-up on cost targets, implementing corrective actions as required

Drive performance management of the unit:
  • Ensure adherence to global processes methods and tools
  • Identify and mitigate risks and secure execution of the internal controls applicable to our unit
  • Continuous monitoring of achievement toward targets & change management when required
  • Review deliverables & support testing, proof of concepts or first-time implementation when required
  • Unit Performance shall be reported in regular Performance Reviews in Leadership Team
  • Managers are accountable for other elements of unit performance management, such as Voice for collecting feedback from employees and developing associated plans
  • Support maintaining records of the performance, relevant training courses, and other records / documents of the team member, as appliable

Individual Performance Management:
  • Set individual goals and targets for the team and team members
  • Discuss the importance of integrity and integrity goals, ensuring that individual performance is achieved in an ethical and compliant manner
  • Follow-up on performance of individuals, fostering honest and transparent feedback, and conducting annual appraisal and impact assessment
  • Provide coaching support to team members and support improvement action plans
  • Include health, safety, and well-being into everyday conversations

Drive Competence and Career Management:
  • Develop plans for individual/team development connected to business needs
  • Perform competence inventory in the team & participate in individual assessments as assessor
  • Support team members with competence and career development
  • Drive everyday learning
  • Develop leadership skills in others, and instill our culture of integrity
  • Plan job rotations

Drive Innovation & Improvements:
  • Foster new ideas for product & process improvements and automation
  • Identify and implement best practices, and improvement programs to boost unit performance in our hybrid work context
  • Identify and address barriers to performance
  • Drive relevant issues for the team
  • Share knowledge and use collaboration tools
  • Drives quality & excellence within the team, as well as a speak-up environment.

Manage Pay, Rewards & Recognition:
  • Perform salary review and drive its communication
  • Recognize and award individuals for achievements and for behaviors consistent with our values
  • Manage time reporting and approvals (expenses, etc.), with full adherence to related company policies

The skills you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5 years (+) of proven experience as a Software Manager in the software development industry, with a focus on cloud solutions and artificial intelligence
  • 7 years (+) of proven experience in Agile methodologies and best practices
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex, large-scale software development projects, including experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proficient in management tools and software, such as SAP, JIRA, Confluence, PowerBI, MS Suite, Microsoft Project, etc...
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to raise the bar, motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and create an impact.
  • Fluent English is a must, written and spoken
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
  • Experience in the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their application in software development projects
