About the Role

Abnormal AI is seeking a Senior Technical Marketing Manager to join our marketing team as the technical expert responsible for owning and delivering high-impact, customer-facing technical assets. In this role, you will bridge the gap between Abnormal’s cutting-edge R&D innovations and the market by developing content that showcases the depth, sophistication, and value of our AI-driven security solutions. You will work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, and product marketing to build demos, technical collateral, and validation materials that engage technical buyers, support go-to-market initiatives, and drive sales success. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong communication skills and thrives in environments where clarity must be created from complexity.

What you will do
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of technical assets including demo videos, whitepapers, technical blog posts, and interactive demo experiences, that articulate Abnormal’s differentiated capabilities to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Research and understand new features, translating technical capabilities into market-ready messaging and content
  • Independently build and maintain guided technical experiences that highlight Abnormal's unique value proposition and differentiated capabilities.
  • Serve as the senior technical subject matter expert for strategic engagements with industry analysts, articulating the technical superiority of the platform.
  • Produce technical validation and thought leadership content, including benchmark reports, integration guides, and architecture deep dives, that positions Abnormal as the technical leader in email security and AI-driven threat detection
  • Establish and maintain processes for keeping technical content current and relevant as products evolve
  • Lead the development of technical launch deliverables—including demo scenarios, validation content, and internal enablement tools—in partnership with product and PMM
 Must Haves
  • 7+ years of experience in technical marketing, solutions engineering, or related technical customer-facing role
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, email security, or adjacent security domains, with the ability to rapidly understand and explain complex technical concepts, architectures, and threat models
  • Proven experience owning the end-to-end development of customer-facing technical content, including videos, demo assets, technical blogs, whitepapers, and solution briefs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate technical value to both practitioner and executive audiences
  • Experience working with R&D teams and translating engineering developments into market-facing content
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Experience with content creation tools, video production, and technical documentation platforms
 Nice to Have
  • Previous experience in email security, AI/ML applications in cybersecurity, or threat detection technologies
  • Experience with interactive demo platforms and customer engagement tools
  • Background in technical sales or solutions engineering roles
  • Master's degree in relevant technical field
  • Industry certifications in cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM, etc.)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
