The Senior Tax Analyst prepares and reviews tax returns, assists in tax provisions, supports audits, conducts tax research, and identifies process improvements.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Analyst to join our dynamic and collaborative tax team. This role plays a key part in supporting corporate tax compliance, provision, and planning activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, tax technical expertise, and a proactive mindset to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review federal and multi-state income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
Assist in preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
Support audits by federal and state tax authorities, including research and documentation requests.
Conduct tax research and provide recommendations on complex tax issues, legislative changes, and planning opportunities.
Maintain and reconcile tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Collaborate with internal finance teams to gather data and analyze book-to-tax differences.
Identify process improvements and support automation initiatives within the tax function.
Assist in special projects, including mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation or CPA preferred).
4–7 years of relevant corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or private industry.
Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state tax compliance and reporting.
Working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting principles.
Proficiency with tax compliance software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
