About the role and what you'll be doing:
The Senior Systems Engineer - IAM is responsible for managing user access and identity across a diverse set of enterprise applications and platforms, including mainframe, Unix, IBM iSeries, and other distributed environments. This role ensures that access rights are granted, maintained, and revoked in accordance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The IAM Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining all necessary certifications required to access and manage these systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage user access for multiple applications ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Vet access rights prior to granting access, following established security and compliance protocols.
- Unlock or reset passwords for users as needed, supporting day-to-day operational requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of access management tools and technologies relevant to supported platforms.
- Ensure all activities meet regulatory compliance standards, including but not limited to SOX, HIPAA, and FIPS 140-2, as applicable.
- Maintain and renew certifications required for system access and management, ensuring continued compliance and eligibility.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and compliance teams to support audits and provide evidence of access controls and certifications.
- Participate in incident response and troubleshooting related to access management issues.
- Document processes, procedures, and access management activities for internal and external audits.
- Occasional company-sponsored travel to client site in Madison, WI.

Qualifications:
- 8+ years of IAM administration experience
- Experience managing access for mainframe, Unix, IBM iSeries, and distributed platforms.
- Strong understanding of identity and access management principles, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements for data access and security.
- Relevant or willingness to obtain and maintain them.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated expertise and strong hands-on experience managing and securing enterprise environments using Active Directory, including user provisioning, group policy management, and access controls.
- Applicant must possess US Citizenship and pass related background checks including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid and VA
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with secure file transfer protocols and audit/compliance requirements.
- Ability to work in a hybrid IT environment and adapt to evolving technologies and platforms.
- Extensive experience and a strong background in implementing and maintaining Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) security standards and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Fiscal Intermediary Shared System (FISS), Medicare Claims System (MCS), Clerk ID, Veteran-Directed Care (VDC) and other VA programs and systems, access to CMS systems including but not limited to Electronic File Interchange (EFI), Next Generation Desktop (NGD), Electronic File Interchange (EFI), and the CMS Identity Management System (IDM).

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $80,000 - $125,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
