The Opportunity

The Senior Partnerships Manager at VidCon serves a dual role: driving traditional sponsorship sales while also developing and monetizing VidCon's creator ecosystem. You'll sell partnerships to brands across VidCon's diverse audience segments (Community, Creator, Industry, and VIP), while simultaneously building creator-led experiences that enhance sponsorship value. Working with prestigious clients such as YouTube, Meta, TikTok, Disney+, Hasbro, and The Coca-Cola Company, you'll create integrated solutions that benefit all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Audience Sponsorship Sales

  • Develop expertise in VidCon's distinct audience tracks (Community, Creator, Industry, and VIP) and their unique sponsorship opportunities
  • Create tailored sponsorship packages that address the specific needs and engagement patterns of each audience segment
  • Identify and secure new partnerships with brand marketers, agencies, and creator economy companies across all audience tracks
  • Develop cross-track sponsorship opportunities that maximize brand presence throughout the entire VidCon ecosystem
  • Convert prospects into long-term partners through consultative selling approaches
  • Achieve and exceed individual revenue targets and KPIs across all audience segments

Creator Ecosystem Development

  • Package creator-led experiences (meetups, panels, branded segments, content series) as monetizable inventory for sponsors
  • Oversee talent relationships for creator-led brand or marketing opportunities
  • Lead special projects that bring sponsors and creators together to prototype new formats and experiences
  • Produce case studies showcasing the impact of creator-brand integrations
  • Build programs that connect creators with brands across all audience tracks

Client & Partnership Management

  • Work closely with Account Management to share client goals and monitor delivery throughout the partnership lifecycle
  • Develop "Win-Win-Win" programs benefiting clients, business, and fans with focus on long-term partnerships
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop creator-aligned sponsorship decks and pitch materials
  • Cross-sell clients into additional products and digital packages; upsell clients into promotional programs at events
  • Bring opportunities, challenges, and pipeline updates to collaborative sales meetings

Key Performance Indicators

  • Revenue from traditional sponsorships and creator-led partnerships across all audience tracks
  • New business development and client retention rates
  • Creator satisfaction and community growth metrics
  • Social engagement and campaign reach
  • Cross-track sponsorship integration success

Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years carrying an individual sales quota in consumer/B2B event sponsorship with proven success
  • Demonstrable connections with brand marketers and/or B2B marketing decision-makers
  • Experience developing and monetizing creator-led experiences or influencer marketing campaigns
  • Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in selling across diverse audience segments
  • Deep understanding of experiential and digital media sales processes and client success metrics
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint sales deck creation and Salesforce (or similar CRM)
  • Regular travel to events, sales meetings, and client visits is required, including potential international travel.

Attributes for Success

  • Highly motivated to close deals, uncover opportunities, and grow partnerships
  • Ability to present to and close brand stakeholders at all job levels with high emotional intelligence
  • Adaptability to understand and articulate value propositions for different audience segments
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a matrix structure
  • Passion for digital culture and the creator economy

  • Comprehensive training on VidCon's distinct audience tracks and their unique sponsorship opportunities
  • Collaborative, innovative team environment with global resources
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary and commission structure
  • Direct access to leading creators and brands shaping digital culture
  • The pay for this role is $90,000 plus commission
  • This posting will expire 9/30

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
