The Senior Manager will lead communication strategies to improve patient engagement, oversee project management, and optimize marketing initiatives in healthcare settings.
The Senior Manager, Strategic Patient and Practice Communications will lead a team focused on the strategy, execution, and continuous optimization of direct mail communication initiatives aimed at enhancing patient health outcomes. This role will collaborate closely with A+ leadership, healthcare providers, and practice teams to design and implement integrated, multi-channel patient outreach campaigns. Additionally, the role is responsible for overseeing the development and dissemination of provider- and practice-facing materials to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
A key component of this role involves applying a data-driven, test-and-learn approach to evaluate the performance of communication strategies. Insights will directly inform and shape the long-term strategic direction of the broader Patient and Practice Communications team and partners. This role requires expertise in four main areas: Strategy, Operations, Project Management, and Content Marketing.
Primary Duties:
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and prioritize patient engagement strategies, including optimal outreach channels and timing, in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Lead a team of Project Managers, Performance Specialists, Content Creators, and Operational Leads to execute, measure, and communicate on various campaigns.
- Integrate diverse communication programs into a unified product that aligns with Aledade’s value proposition and supports B2B marketing efforts.
- Develop and implement a modern, data-driven communications strategy that drives satisfaction and organizational goals.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing scalable model with strategic, marketing, and project management capabilities.
- Lead critical incident communications and change management initiatives, anticipating stakeholder needs and delivering proactive solutions.
- Operational Excellence
- Evaluate and report on the ROI of communication efforts by campaign, channel, population, and geography.
- Establish governance, tools, and processes to align with internal and external partners, enabling seamless execution and optimization of campaigns.
- Monitor performance metrics to enhance communication effectiveness and engagement.
- Manage departmental policies, vendor relationships, and explore partnerships to scale and innovate offerings.
- Project Management
- Enhance and scale project management processes, tools, and reporting to support complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Lead intake, prioritization, and resource planning for new campaigns, ensuring visibility into work capacity and status.
- Content Marketing & Messaging
- Oversee development and execution of compliant, impactful patient communication content in partnership with the Content team.
- Ensure messaging reflects whole-person care and health equity principles, including DEI, behavioral health, and health literacy.
- Represent the organization in strategic conversations with payer partners, contributing to thought leadership and innovation

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or related field. Experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years and strategic understanding of direct response and database marketing strategies, tactics, testing and measurement
- 5+ years experience delivering consistent, integrated communications across direct mail/printing, email, text, and call modalities
- 5+ years in healthcare communications to health plan members and/or patients
- 3+ years and a deep knowledge of best practices related to process automation, data management and digital production
- 3+ years experience in digital experience design and optimization with preference for those with payer and/or EHR portals
- 3+ years experience in advanced project management and process definition
- Strong financial and accounting acumen with proven financial responsibility for multi-million dollar, annual, multi-channel direct to consumer communication budget
- Experience with and solid understanding of qualitative (e.g. focus groups) and quantitative (e.g. survey design) research methods.
- Experience with and solid understanding of predictive modeling and AI and the application of such to optimize consumer communications
- Ability to effortlessly move between strategic thinker, people manager and individual contributor
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Travel: 10-25%
