OVERVIEW

The Senior Accounting Manager will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. This person will assist in managing the monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements. The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
  • Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades/ implementation of ERP software.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual report.
  • Build strong relationships with internal global stakeholders
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud.
  • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses.
  • Assist in preparing summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget.
  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Review general ledger reconciliations for several key areas.
  • General accounting areas including fixed assets, capitalized software, intercompany, leasing, order to cash and expense accruals.
  • Ensure record keeping is in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Oversee a team of 2-3 accountants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years’ experience working in the apparel, ecommerce, or related industry (public/private).
  • 3+ years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • BS degree in Accounting or related business field.
  • CPA desired.
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP.
  • Experience working in a multi-national corporation.
  • Experience with general ledger functions.
  • Ability to execute deadline driven processes in a dynamic environment.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$140,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
