As we continue to scale, we need to ensure that our restaurant staff and leadership have access to best in class tools and experiences to do their jobs well - from prepping ingredients and food safety to restaurant technology.

We are seeking a Vendor Manager to support multiple technology teams, products, and projects across sweetgreen. This role will partner with business stakeholders (and serve on their behalf) to manage our external vendors and ensure the management of strategic partnerships and supporting service providers enable sweetgreen to achieve business goals and drive our operations forward.

Key Areas of Ownership Include:

  • Defining strategy and developing project plans
  • Support budgeting and resource allocation for partner-supported teams/projects
  • Assessing vendor productivity and sourcing new vendors based on business need
  • Building dashboards and providing reports/analysis to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Establishing SLAs and clear lines of communication, while identifying owners for individual project initiatives
  • Serving as primary point of contact for vendor communication and demonstrating availability for escalations and troubleshooting
  • Identifying risks and providing mitigation strategies
  • Managing multiple projects with competing priorities and resource constraints
  • Developing project and process documentation


Long-Term Focus:

  • Building scalable processes and solutions to support sweetgreen’s growth
  • Leading cross-functional initiatives with remote teams across geos and time zones
  • Influencing without authority and demonstrating change management across business lines
  • Thriving amid ambiguity and providing direction where needed


Your Background:

  • 5-8 years experience in vendor management, management consulting, technical analysis, or product/project management
  • Demonstrated experience translating product features and experiences into platform capabilities and requirements within agile, fast-moving environment
  • Working knowledge of industry standard development/implementation methodologies
  • Experience working with remote teams

    • Able to clearly absorb complex concepts, clarify context, requirements, and processes.
    • Forward thinking to identify opportunities, take initiative, and think through future implications

    • A healthy obsession with digital tools + technology that lead to new and useful ways for solving problems 
    • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to consider multiple audiences, bring people along the change curve, and articulate rationale for change throughout the organization
    • A proactive, high energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement.
    • A laser focus on getting things done, and an inspiring level of patience as you work through ambiguity. Ability to creatively solve hard problems in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
