Sr. Manager, Product Management - Supply Chain

Reports To: Director, Ops+Concept Platform

The Ops and Concept Product group at sweetgreen is responsible for the Operating Platform needed to execute Operations and Concept strategies, driving the technology roadmap with internal stakeholders and across our partner ecosystem.

sweetgreen’s true product is our delicious real food and our Concept team’s vision for SG experiences, all brought to life by our Restaurant Operations teams. Our Ops and Concept Product group prioritizes and drives the technology solutions needed to scale these experiences and reach more people. 

Responsibilities

The Sr. Manager, Product Management will focus largely on partnering with our Supply Chain, Culinary + Food Safety, and Operation Services teams to map out stakeholder needs and deliver and manage the platform behind our supply chain and in-restaurant food journey. 

Our local supply chain is critical for our mission of building healthier communities by connecting people to real food. In this role you will drive solutions key to our scaling, enabling local supply and demand management, transparency, sustainability, freshness and quality management, and in-restaurant inventory management.

Additionally this Sr. Manager, Product Management may partner with other corporate teams on workflow optimization solutions, such as for our Customer Experience or Store Development team to manage and drive partner integrations and roadmaps.

With many potential systems partners in this space (both established and nascent), the Sr. Manager, Product Management will drive needs and requirements, evaluate market solutions, drive build/buy decisions, and manage RFPs pricing analysis, and partner selection. From there, the Sr. Manager, Product Management will drive partner and internal execution, partner implementations, partner relationship management, roadmap planning, customization needs, integration needs for internal SG systems and our data pipeline, ensuring that solutions land with internal business users and end users, and driving ongoing partner feature development to ensure that solutions stay relevant and value-effective for sweetgreen’s needs. 

Critical connections across all of these systems stem from our Forecasting models and Business optimization capabilities, so close relationships with our Data Modeling and Data Engineering teams are important to success in this role.

All of this work ladders up to execution against our Ops and Concept strategies and business roadmaps, making it easier to manage and lead our restaurants, translating our operating model into new locations and markets, and enabling scalable growth. 

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in product management, partner management, solutions deployment, and business optimization
• Industry experience in supply chain, distribution, logistics, omnichannel retail, and/or food and beverage technology 
• Highly desired to have experience scaling a supply chain, distribution network, marketplace, or logistics business
• Heavily execution-oriented – a hands-on contributor who is also able to drive cross-functional teams to common goals and outcomes
• Experience landing complex platform integration and internal user migration
• Experience writing RFPs and in managing partner vetting and selection processes
• A good listener to stakeholder needs, able to translate between internal needs and partner execution
• Track record of strong collaboration with technology partners for delivering solutions to customer and end-user needs,  driving partners to incorporate needs into their roadmaps, and delivering on expected ROI
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement
• Self-starter and life-long learner
