Senior Buyer - Tech/Fitness/Wellness
Our merchandising team is expanding! As we continue to evolve as a premiere Women's lifestyle membership, we are constantly trying to push the needle and find the latest and greatest products for our 1M+ members. We are looking to grow our reach within the tech, fitness, and wellness verticals and seeking a Senior Buyer to help build out the categories for our cult-favorite seasonal subscription box and corresponding e-Commerce flash sales. This person will be at the cutting edge of the latest trends, products, and brands within tech, fitness, and wellness along with a proven track record of negotiating and finalizing complex deals.
You Will:
- Establish and drive execution toward a long-term strategic vision for our box and e-commerce channels within Fitness, Wellness and Tech Categories in partnership with Senior Buyer
- Accountable for building into assortment plans for omni channel initiatives
- Partner with Strategic Merchandising team to build into box sku targets and meet financial cost plans
- Collaborate with Consumer Insights and Merchandising Strategy team to leverage trends and data to develop strategic vision for potential new brands and product assortments
- Analyze class, vendor and replenishment assortment for Ecommerce Channel
- Partner with Ecommerce Planner to forecast sales, markdowns, margin and inventory to plan
- Negotiate and partner with vendors to hit cost targets and maintain gross margin profitability
- Monitors inventory productivity and develops and executes aged inventory strategies
- Structure and lead negotiations with brand partners which incorporate FabFitFun’s capabilities, including seasonal box, e-commerce, content, and community
- Grow and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners
- Strategically scout new vendors & styles to support key product strategies
- Work with Designer(s) and Production to manage the timeline on all product development
- Collaborate with cross functional partners at all stages of execution.
- Responsible for ensuring data accuracy for brands and products within multiple internal systems
- Conduct competitive marketplace analysis to assess and create business opportunities
- Attending market and/or trade shows seasonally
You Have:
- 5+ years buying/merchandising experience in traditional retail environment. Subscription box or Off Price model is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field
- Ability to leverage data in order to make decisions for E-commerce business
- You have strong knowledge of retail math and business metrics
- You have strong knowledge of OTB process and metrics
- The ability to make the transition from strategic (conceptual and planning) to execution. Financial acumen and the ability to manipulate numbers are critical in achieving the tactical objectives
- Participate in product development process as appropriate
- Understands quality, and can have meaningful dialogue with brands in regards to cost of goods and design process for given category
- Confident negotiating complex deals with vendors while securing products at cost
- An understanding of the member’s wants and needs and the ability to identify the appropriate product/trend that will appeal to the member and exceed their expectations
- The ability to conceptually plan assortments that meet financial objectives
- The ability to prioritize tasks and balance the immediate and long term needs of the business
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Strong rolodex with existing contacts and relationships in tech, fitness, and wellness a plus
