The role:
As a Regional Sales Director, you’ll be responsible for the overall leadership and management of our Pasadena, CA office. This is a key strategic position, responsible for driving significant revenue growth. In addition to managing high performing sales leaders, this person will be the communication liaison between the local office and head office in Cambridge, UK.
With market-leading software solutions, the strongest brand in our space, and well-respected thought leadership in your back pocket, you and your team will act as a guide and strategic partner to some of our biggest customers. You’ll become intimately knowledgeable about their key business challenges, and tailor insights that challenge their status quo in line with increasing database development pressures.
You’ll be responsible for hiring your own team and managing all aspects of the sales process including sales development, lead management, business proposals, qualification, evaluation, closing, and account care. In many cases, you’ll work with a variety of disciplines across the business to achieve your goals; bringing in help from sales engineering, Product Managers, Marketing, and Renewals Reps to ensure success.
Responsibilities:
- Create, develop and motivate a high performing team of sales leaders to assist their teams in exceeding targets.
- Office management responsibilities
- Be thoroughly independent; yet know when to raise a point or ask for a clarification or escalate any issues
- Report detailed metrics on the pipeline, forecast, close rates, rep efficiency, etc.
- Track significant opportunities throughout pipeline and communicate and negotiate with customers when necessary
- Interact as required with key functions of the business such as Renewals, Marketing, Finance, Customer Support, Product, People Team, Sales Operations and Sales Enablement.
- Work as part of a global 1st line team of managers reporting to the Global VP of Sales to improve sales overall through communication and collaboration
- Work to ensure a healthy pipeline of sales candidates at all times
What makes you a great fit for the Regional Sales Director role?
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a software sales manager
- A minimum of 3 years of management experience in senior positions
- Experience in closing six-figure sales opportunities
- Passionate people manager
- Experience of creating and developing the culture and environment necessary for a high performing team and individuals to flourish
- Excellent communication and cross company collaboration skills to build strong relationships
- Experience with Salesforce CRM
- Experience in building software sales teams
- Experience of managing managers
- Understanding of perpetual software tools market
