About Lumi

Lumi helps ecommerce brands produce memorable and sustainable packaging through our online platform and worldwide network of factories. Tens of millions of packages are being shipped every year with Lumi products.

At Lumi we’re on a mission to build a new supply chain for modern brands, upending an antiquated industry with technology. To get there, we want to build meaningful bridges to other products and services that modern brands use to run their companies, everything from design agencies to 3PLs. As the Lumi’s Director of Partnerships, you’ll develop our partnership strategy from scratch and put plans into action, often hitting the road to meet high-value partner opportunities.

This role requires a lot of creativity and tenacity. We’re a software-focused packaging company — not the norm for our industry — so you’ll need to develop scalable systems and playbooks for onboarding new partners and measuring their ROI. You will also help our sales leadership keep our pipeline full of the right brands and build Lumi as an authority in our industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop quarterly and annual goals for partnerships in concert with sales leadership and other company executives. Prospect and nurture high-value partners, developing key relationships with individuals to create referral business and fill sales pipeline, often even before formal partnerships are solidified
  • Draft partnership agreements, earn internal buy-in from operations, and advise legal and executive teams on what Lumi should offer a prospective partner, while creating repeatable documents and systems as you go for each type of partnership
  • Develop and manage key metrics and KPIs in our CRM, reporting regularly to hone your goals as you prove your strategies
  • Create a timeline of priorities from a list of target partners in various industries (i.e., design agencies, fulfillment centers, ecommerce consulting firms, shipping rate platforms, ecommerce software, logistics companies, etc..)

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnership, or account management
  • Project management experience is necessary
  • Comfortable traveling often (up to 40% of the time)
  • Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Natural self-starter attitude that thrives in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to effectively manage expectations and over-deliver every time
  • Experience developing commercial contracts and operating procedures

What we look forOur team is made up of people from diverse backgrounds, often working remotely across the world. We believe cross-pollination is one of the best ways to foster community and new ideas. For that reason we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to any of our positions. Creating a great environment for everyone on the team is something we care deeply about. There are a few qualities we look for in anyone joining Lumi. Here are some of the questions we'll be asking ourselves when reviewing your application: Curiosity: Your role will evolve as time goes on. Do you have an eagerness to learn new skills, adapt to new situations and get out of your comfort zone?Communication: Whether it is in written or spoken form, are you able to communicate clearly and concisely with others?Empathy: Do you collaborate well with others? How do you deal with disagreements? Do you relate to the challenges we seek to solve for our customers?Work ethic: Do you have a can-do attitude? In the ever-moving world of logistics, will you do your best to not keep others waiting? Can we rely on you to bring rigor and enthusiasm necessary to your work?Good taste: Are you attentive to details? Do you care about creating an elegant, pleasant experience for customers and those around you? Note that due to the volume of applications we are not able to reply to everyone. Rest assured, we do read every application. Thanks for considering us!
