As the Director, Business Development you will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new strategic partnerships. This position will be tasked with securing revenue & customer growth driving deals with popular socially-oriented consumer brands, adjacent financial services players (insurance, lending, credit), and large enterprise businesses. This is a performance-oriented role and success will be determined by attainment to quarterly goals resulting in new channel revenue and depository accounts.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and pursue new channel business relationships with strategic partners that carry direct revenue (example of existing: Lemonade, MassMutual etc.)
  • Grow and expand existing customer benefits in the areas of cashback, social impact, and new features (example of existing: Warby Parker, Blue Apron, Eden Reforestation, Allpoint)
  • Develop non-traditional customer growth channels with employer & gig economy players (example of existing: Postmates)
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive pipeline management process for opportunity tracking (Salesforce)
  • Partner with Business Development Managers to execute systematic outbound campaign processes for hunting into new potential partners (Email/LinkedIn etc.)
  • Negotiate effectively, favorable business terms, for Aspiration while managing the contract process with legal and finance (both internal and external)
  • Partner with product and engineering teams internally to ensure the effective and seamless deployment of new partners through a defined partner success and onboarding framework

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of proven success in leading, building and managing highly effective revenue channels for direct to consumer software (preferably in the financial services space)
  • Strong leadership skills that inspire commitment to achieve aggressive targets, transparently deliver results, and mobilize both internal and external resources with urgency around changing priorities
  • A proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • History of execution (quota attainment) in high growth successful startups
