About the role:

This is a key role to help build the location data asset that powers many of Factual’s products. This person will report into the COO and will work closely with product management, as well as the revenue business development team. There will be targets associated with acquiring apps and a strong user base to contribute to Factual’s data assets.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a stellar track record in business development with mobile apps, specifically closing deals for data sharing and SDK implementation. They will come with a rolodex and working knowledge of the mobile app landscape and love prospecting potential new customers. They will be able to connect and converse with mobile app product managers and marketers to articulate the benefits of data sharing and collaboration with Factual. They will be a big believer in location data, and excited about its prospects to improve marketing, analytics, and mobile products. Finally, they will thrive having clear goals and an independent charter to go hit them.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to secure and grow network of mobile apps providing data to Factual
  • Acquire new partners via cold calls, networking, and events attendance
  • Exceed partner and user targets each quarter
  • Work with product and partner management team to monitor the performance of partners
  • Engage in the day-to-day communications with both partners and internal teams
  • Work with a budget to hit targets
  • Look for opportunities to help grow and expand the business through product innovation and customer needs
  • Use problem solving and analytical skills to determine how to maintain partner satisfaction and deliver results
  • Understand and address value drivers for mobile app publishers, e.g. engineering cycles, privacy, monetization and other market forces
  • Represent the needs of top partners within the organization, and escalate issues and requests as needed
  • Analyze partner metrics to identify trends and issues, and develop recommendations to help optimize results

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • More than 5 years of experience in mobile app and sdk business development
  • Strong track record of achieving results around closing mobile app deals
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with experience pitching both in person and over the phone
  • An entrepreneurial approach to business
  • Solution-oriented focus that conveys and demonstrates responsiveness and competence as well as a sense of urgency
  • BA/BS or equivalent required, MBA or relevant experience preferred
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a rapidly changing environment

  • Experience and knowledge working with location data
  • Experience and knowledge working with advertising and marketing technology companies
  • Comfortable manipulating and working with data
  • Experience with data licensing - inbound or outbound
