OVERVIEW:

The  Sales Development Representative, Corporate Metapack US is crucial to the sales acquisition process by performing research prospecting, outreach, and lead qualification that will result in closed business. The role will develop and cultivate business-to-business relationships to increase market awareness of MetaPack’s products and services among retailers and brands. This role reports to the Director Commercial Sales, North America.

Via our SaaS platform, we enable retailers and brands selling online to help consumers decide their delivery preference and track the parcel’s progress whilst also providing the retailer with intelligent smart decisions about how to send - all underpinned with lots of data. We work with well-known global retailers and major brands such as ASOS, Adidas, Burberry, John Lewis, Boohoo, eBay, and Zalando. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Objectives:

  1. Research and qualify new customer prospects
  2. Follow up on inquiries generated from marketing programs.
  3. Conduct outbound prospecting within defined accounts
  4. Perform Lead Management activities.
  5. Increase awareness of MetaPack products and services among retailers and brands.

 

Essential Position Duties:(typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks which support the primary objectives)

  1. Research and qualify sales opportunities (new customer prospects).
    • Establish and build rapport with prospects via telephone and email.
    • Document all activities in Salesforce tool to ensure efficient lead management.
    • Grow the database of targetable contacts in the right accounts, job levels, and functions and ensure the database compliance standards.
    • Increase market intelligence and reasons for non-progression of inquiries as part of the prospecting activity and ensure information is documented in Salesforce.
    • Opportunities must be with decision makers that are in mid-management and above, who ideally have a project, a budget and a timeframe, as these are most likely to buy (BANT qualification).
  2. Following up on inquiries generated from marketing programs.
    • Inquiry follow up includes;
      • Information requests – completed Contact Us and Demo Request forms on the MetaPack website.
      • Events – inquiries originating from event registrations and attendees at events organized by MetaPack or from 3rd party tradeshows and conferences.
      • Webinars – inquiries originating from attendees of live or on-demand webinars
      • Web leads – inquiries generated from primarily white paper downloads, normally generated from an outbound marketing email campaign or 3rd party content syndication or outreach campaign, and organic and paid social media activities.
      • Nurture leads – inquiries generated from MetaPack’s global nurture program.
    • Support and follow up on corporate and local marketing campaigns, and drive attendance to MetaPack owned events.
    • Work closely with regional sales and marketing managers to ensure inquiries are reviewed with the local teams and followed up promptly for each campaign.
  3. Conduct outbound prospecting within defined accounts.
    • Contact enrichment and account profiling of key accounts to support and prepare for additional appointment booking.
    • Execute and follow-up of monthly targeted sales campaigns.
  4. Perform Lead Management activities.
    • Review and confirm all follow-up activities and notes from conversations are clearly documented in Salesforce.
    • Share feedback from conversations with prospects and provide input into future messaging and campaigns.
    • Liaise with the marketing programs manager and sales operations to ensure information from generated leads and opportunities is accurate and in line with current processes.
  5. Increase awareness of MetaPack products and services amongst retailers and brands.
    • Share product features, capabilities, and advantages with prospective decision makers.
    • Distribute product specifications and marketing materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education and/or Experience:                                                         

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more (2+) years of sales experience within B2B software or technology organizations targeting enterprise-level companies.
  • Prior experience cold-calling into senior level management within enterprise accounts
  • eCommerce and/or retail industry experience is a plus.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of the customer buying journey and the marketing/sales funnel and how marketing campaigns and assets feed into it.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking related to identifying prospects using established qualifiers.
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills and strong ability to communicate in a structured and clear manner to get buy-in across a variety of stakeholders.
  • Possess a strong positive “can do”, self-starter attitude.

Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:                                               

  • Microsoft Office
  • Salesforce CRM
  • eCommerce Shipping Applications preferred
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator preferred

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 5%
