What We’re Looking For:
We are hiring a Director of Business Development to help us move deals through the pipeline and support our overall business development strategy. This role will be the first point of contact for inbound leads and will work with our Directors to progress current deals from conversation to conversion. In addition to landing us new clients and projects, this role will maintain and nurture relationships of existing accounts similarly to how an Account Executive would.
 

Responsibilities:
To properly execute on new business opportunities, the person in this role will be expected perform the following tasks:

  • Consistently research prospective clients, new technologies, and market landscapes on a regular basis
  • Manage our CRM and project pipeline and regularly update the business development team on its status
  • Regularly converse with our clients via email, phone, and in-person meetings to support and maintain current relationships
  • Work directly with our Product Managers and Technical Architects to draft proposed project plans & cost estimates based on client requirements and Sidebench’s delivery framework
  • Use Sidebench’s staffing platforms & existing network to source and manage contract subject matter experts for projects that require extra expertise
  • Regularly update sales enablement materials and create custom decks for various pitches
  • Drafting and managing Statements of Work
  • Analyzing our current sales strategies and regularly improving our processes
  • Collaborate with our marketing team to design marketing strategies that help support our sales goals
  • Constantly seek out new prospect client accounts and strategic partnerships through networking and careful research

Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate has directly relevant experience in a similar role and a similar type of company. In addition they should also possess the following skills:

  • 5+ years of client-facing business development and sales experience in the technology or professional services sector
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience in a client-facing role where you’ve worked directly with clients
  • Visual literacy, meaning that you’re able to instantly recognize good design and a visually appealing product
  • A solid grasp of business fundamentals, and an ability to articulate the value of a service and product in alignment with clients’ businesses
  • A basic understanding of the product lifecycle including strategy, design, development, and launch
  • Experience and interest in tech, whether by trade or by hobby
  • Immaculate task management skills with a passion for proactivity and organization
