About The Opportunity
We are looking for a driven, clever, and enthusiastic Business Development Associate to lead sales and marketing initiatives for Sidebench. This person will be an integral part of our sales team, responsible for managing client leads from introduction through to proposal, building out repeatable lead generation processes, contributing to new and existing marketing activities, and playing a leading role in bringing in new business for the company.
You will be working closely with Sidebench’s Founders on a day-to-day basis. You will be given a tremendous amount of independence and are expected to be a leader from day one. There is an incredible amount of growth potential within Sidebench and you alone will determine your ceiling.
Act as a solutions consultant to articulate client ideas, current pain points & constraints, and propose creative solutions to address through technology; use your intelligence and listening skills to sell concepts and not products
Manage client leads throughout the sales process with tight turnaround times; build both personal and professional relationships with decision makers during the day and outside the office; serve as the face of Sidebench in the market
Design, test, and systemize new methods for generating qualified leads (specifically start-up & new ventures); establish and meet periodic revenue goals
Actively seek and participate in relevant events to develop strong value-add relationships with various community members in order to build both Sidebench’s and your own personal network with the aim of uncovering potential business opportunities
Review inbound RFPs/leads and client requirements; work with sales team to structure strong responses & proposals
Develop target account lists and pursue specific relationships; lead, manage, and guide business development intern team in outreach activities
- Use a mix of email, formal & informal in-person meetings, calls, and social messaging for effective prospect outreach
1+ years of sales or account management experience in the past; must have a true passion for creative sales and strategic business development
Strong familiarity with modern web and mobile technologies; able to discuss potential projects & solutions with clients - remember we are selling custom solutions and not products!
Ability to quickly prioritize deals & tasks on-the-fly, and progress deals with a sense of urgency
Excellent communication, speaking, writing, and listening skills
Proficient at creating and enhancing repeatable processes to increase efficiency
Must be able to understand business objectives and create alignment with our solutions
- Professional services (consulting/agency) delivery or account management experience is a big plus!
