As our Business Development team continues to grow, we’re looking for a sharp, personable, and driven Business Development Associate to join the team. This role will be responsible for contributing to our Business Development department in a wide variety of areas, including sales pipeline management, drafting proposals and SOWs for clients, lead generation process & execution, market research, client communication, and marketing support.

Our ideal candidate must be able to move quickly, install process + best practices, refine processes, conduct thorough research, and aspire to become an expert on our core services and how we identify, connect with, and bring on new client accounts.

Every member of the business development team must have an inherent knack for quickly building a “trusted advisor” relationship with prospects through active listening, asking the most intelligent questions that display our expertise, and constantly seeking opportunities to add value.

This is a unique opportunity for a smart, hungry, tech enthusiast who is already very interested in digital products and is excited to jump into a different kind of consultative sales and business development role.

Responsibilities

  • Review inbound RFPs and sales leads and work with internal teams to structure strong responses in the form of different written communications and proposals
  • Co-manage our client pipeline and support the business development team in establishing new relationships with prospective clients
  • Use a mix of email, formal and informal in-person meetings, calls, and social messaging for effective prospect outreach
  • Maintain and nurture existing client relationships with the goal of growing them beyond our current engagement
  • Work with our Product, Design and Engineering teams to create project plans, handoff key information and scope tasks
  • Qualify inbound prospects by managing written communications and taking initial phone calls to gather more information
  • Help develop target account lists and design campaigns to pursue specific relationships
  • Provide general research and administrative support for the Business Development team

Qualifications

  • Experience in an agency or consulting environment (ideally in business development, client services, account management, or strategy)
  • Ability to quickly understand a client’s unique goals and needs and drive internal delivery teams to execute on those needs
  • Experience creating written business development proposals and creating marketing materials
  • Ability to actively manage relationships with prospective clients from initial conversation through the closing conversations
  • Strong knowledge of modern technology basics and passion for keeping up with digital trends
  • Incredible persistence, discipline, and attention to detail across all workstreams
  • Proficient knowledge of CRM tools including LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Hubspot or other comparable systems
  • Ability to produce detailed and well-organized research and documentation and having a knack for effectively summarizing concepts, thoughts, and research
  • Strong research and analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • A keen eye for clean and beautiful design aesthetics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Why Apply?
We’re looking for someone who’s excited about unique exposure to diverse technical and creative projects, some of which are the first of their kind.

You will level up quickly while working hands on with team members across every department at Sidebench and will be expected to be a strong key player on the team after a few months with us. You’ll be working with industry leaders and veterans, including regular facetime with our CEO, and will build new relationships in the industry in no time.

This role will help the ideal individual grow into a future role in strategy, analytics, consulting, or project management based on their preferred career trajectory.

It is a perfect fit for someone who’s interested in pursuing a career either in consulting or sales within the custom software industry.

An Insider's view of Sidebench

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Our work-life balance here is one of the best I've experienced in my career so far. People usually arrive between 9-10a each morning and leave between 5-7p every evening, and so long as you make all of your meetings and hit all your deadlines, no one's going to judge. Additionally, the unlimited vacation is a huge perk for all of us.

Keenan

People Operations Manager

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

A part of my role is taking a client’s set of requirements and scoping out potential engagements. It's essential I get feedback from multiple teams, including UX/UI/Tech, to better inform my conversations & identify the clients true needs. To do so, I set up solutioning meetings with all roles involved & we’ll collaborate to find the best options.

Chase

How does the company support your career growth?

The company provides time and resources for pursuing higher education that is relevant to your current position or desired career trajectory.

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

Team ideas define Sidebench’s direction. Our core company value ensures nothing less, "We harness the collective genius of our diverse team to co-invent the feature." By creating an environment of open thinking & celebrating creative conflict, the team knows it's their responsibility to define company direction. Their ideas make up Sidebench’s DNA.

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Motivating. You can tell that everyone here loves what they do and wants to work hard to make the best products possible for our clients. At the same time, everyone is very laid back and knows when it’s time to work and when it’s time to have fun.
