About Nominal

Nominal is building the connected test and operations platform powering the world’s most advanced hardware systems, from spacecraft and autonomous vehicles to next-generation defense programs. Our platform gives hardware engineering teams a single place to ingest data, analyze performance, automate test execution, and collaborate across every phase of development so they can move faster without sacrificing safety or precision. We are a fast-moving team that owns problems end to end, works across disciplines, and thrives at the intersection of hardware and software.
We serve top-tier commercial and defense customers including autonomy leaders like Anduril and Shield AI, next-generation aerospace teams such as Hermeus and REGENT, and performance engineering teams like Pratt Miller Motorsports. We also partner with mission teams within the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force on programs where failure is not an option.

Nominal is backed by Sequoia, General Catalyst, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, and Lightspeed. Our team includes people from SpaceX, Palantir, Anduril, Applied Intuition, and other leading companies, united by a common mission: giving hardware engineers the tools to build the future with speed, safety, and confidence.

We’re looking for a people-obsessed, detail-driven Recruiting Coordinator who’s excited to craft standout candidate experiences and help scale a world-class team. At Nominal, you’ll be at the heart of our hiring engine — partnering with recruiters and hiring managers to create a seamless, organized, and personal process from first touch to final offer. You’ll own interview coordination, keep communication flowing, and constantly look for ways to elevate how we tell our story to candidates.

This full-time role is a unique chance to shape the talent experience at a fast-growing company building the world’s most advanced hardware systems — from spacecraft and autonomous vehicles to next-gen industrial machines.

  • Coordinate interview logistics: Schedule and manage interview loops across engineering, growth, and operations teams while keeping the process organized and running smoothly.
  • Deliver exceptional candidate experiences: Act as the primary point of contact for candidates and ensure a smooth, welcoming interview experience from initial scheduling through final interviews.
  • Keep the hiring process on track: Manage scheduling changes, track candidate progress, and help ensure hiring teams and candidates stay aligned throughout the interview process.
  • Support recruiting operations: Assist with recruiting initiatives, help improve scheduling and communication workflows, and contribute to programs that help Nominal attract exceptional talent.

  • You are proficient in Google Suite (Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Slack.
  • You are willing and able to work 5-days in office in Austin (Downtown) or Los Angeles (Culver City).
  • Plus: You’ve scheduled interviews using Gem ATS.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
