Learn More About What We Do

We are looking for an engineer interested in working within the Data Science team in our El Segundo, CA office. This role involves prototyping applications and algorithms developed by the data science team. Building production grade data ingestion pipelines and designing and maintaining an experimentation environment to be able to reliably improve our recommendation algorithms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build and maintain JSON APIs to interact with many of the machine learning models being built in house.
  • Design, rapid prototype, and productize new data product ideas and concepts.
  • Build and maintain multiple data ingestion pipelines to power various NLP based recommendation systems, content strategy tools and data warehouses that in turn are used to support products used by both external users and internal teams.
  • Work with other engineers to constantly improve the capabilities, reliability, and cost of our platforms.

Requirements

  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals and basic working knowledge of statistics.
  • 3+ years of Python programming experience and experience with the Python web development stack (Django / Flask / Jinja, etc).
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure services, event driven programming and serverless computing.
  • Familiarity with querying databases (Snowflake or other MPP) using SQL, Elasticsearch and DynamoDB.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with the PyData stack (numpy / pandas / gensim / spacy / nltk / sklearn / tensor-flow).
  • Familiarity with workflow management tools (Airflow, Luigi, Azkaban).
  • Some experience building Front End applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in Computer Science or related field of study. Master’s a plus.
