We’re looking for an incredibly strong Technical Project Manager (TPM).

About The Role

The Technical Project Management team is responsible for delivering JOANY’s engineering projects: on time, to spec, and with the right level of quality. Our TPMs handle the planning, forecasting, and day-to-day execution of everything we build. We’d be lost without them.

Technical Project Management lives in the Product organization. It’s a hands-on, cross-functional, detail-oriented role. TPMs work closely with Product Management, Design, Engineering, and QA. They make sure everyone understands what’s being built, how we’ll deliver, and where we are at any given moment in time. Our TPMs are the heartbeat of our engineering efforts. They set the pace, and keep us moving forward.

We need people who are organized, and bring order to chaos. We need people who are not just comfortable with the unknown, but who actively turn the unknown into something understandable and manageable. We need people who can wrangle different skills and personalities. We need people with outrageously good BS detection, who can make a plan and get a team bought in. And we need people who can drive, drive, drive (and drive!) to ensure that commitments are met, dates are hit, and our customers are getting our latest goodness as soon as it’s ready to go out the door.

What you'll bring:

• 2 - 5 years of titled Project Management, Program Management or Technical Project Management experience at a software company;
• Hands-on experience developing and executing complex project plans;
• Clear track record of delivery throughout your career;
• Clear track record of success driving projects in startup-ish environments;
• Direct experience working with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers and Quality Assurance teams;
• Quantitative decision-making abilities;
• Exceptional interpersonal and cross-functional skills;
• Experience with JIRA, Pivotal, or equivalent ticketing system;
• Direct experience building (and using) dashboards and reports for decision-making;
• Bachelor’s degree;
• Experience with Agile methodologies a plus.
