About the Role
As a Technical Product Manager for the Platform team, you will be involved in every part of the life cycle for developing the platform upon which Route is built. From setting technical priorities based on the needs of the various engineering teams to ensuring security and compliance concerns are properly prioritized and addressed, you will work with engineers and other product managers to ensure the Route platform meets our high bar for technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage the product roadmap across multiple platform teams
- Lead the scoping, development, and launch of platform initiatives
- Prepare documents and make recommendations to key stakeholders on how to achieve major company priorities
- Represent the platform teams in cross-functional planning sessions
- Ensure that platform teams are delivering on strategic initiatives while maintaining Route’s standard for operational excellence
- Work hands-on with engineers to implement and build new features that meet Route’s standards of simplicity and quality
- Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
- Handle critical, time-sensitive incidents of high impact to the company and perform post-mortem to analyze gaps and identify optimizations to products, policies and processes
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in technical product management
- Minimum of 5 years of technical experience at an e-commerce or internet software company; domain knowledge in security and compliance areas considered a plus
- Minimum of 5 years experience driving cross-functional collaboration between product, engineering, sales, and customer success
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle with a track record of delivering timely, high-quality solutions across several engineering teams
- Ability to communicate complex technical solutions with a diverse, cross-functional audience
- Proven ability to build and drive long-term technical roadmaps and large strategic initiatives
- Strong judgment when it comes to balancing short term and long term priorities
- Validated experience in embracing product management methodologies and policies
- Stellar business acumen, communication skills, and presentation experience
- Strong customer-focused mentality
