We are looking for an organized, energetic Strategic Project Manager and administrator with a can-do attitude and passion for getting things done. The ideal person for this role will have strong organizational skills, the ability to focus on multiple moving parts, and a commitment to contribute to our mission at the intersection of financial, environmental, and social responsibility. This candidate will thrive working on several projects simultaneously and loves the fast-paced speed of fintech startups. The Strategic Project Manager for this role will report to our Vice President of Strategy and work closely with Aspiration’s CEO. In this capacity, this person will provide strategic leadership to the coordination and management of projects that will require clear and timely communications with various stakeholders across the company and monitor the progress of each project from end-to-end. This person will have the opportunity to learn about all components of Aspiration's business and interact with team members across all product verticals.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and track multiple projects and tasks across all areas of Aspiration’s business
  • Create long- and short-term project plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources where necessary
  • Execute on various elements of projects with the support of Aspiration’s senior leaders and teams
  • Delegate tasks on projects to employees best positioned to complete them 
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and goals; then build out the project plan independently
  • Make effective decisions with the support of senior leaders when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serve as a point of contact for teams when numerous units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Liaise with project stakeholders concerning details and deliverables, and keep projects aligned with goals and timelines 
  • Help to coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables
  • Analyze data and report out findings in an organized, concise manner
  • Conduct various administrative duties, including scheduling meetings, notetaking, and recordkeeping, ensuring materials are distributed, etc. 
  • Track and report project progress consistently, accurately, and on time
  • Review the work of third-party vendors or partners to close their contracts and pay their invoices
  • Archive project files for future reference and use in an organized and risk-free manner

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Strong desire to learn about all areas of Aspiration’s business- from credit to investments, insurance, and compliance (Fintech experience is preferred)
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., agile/scrum)
  • Cost and risk management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to make crucial decisions under pressure
  • Problem-solving and time management skills with keen attention to detail
  • Friendly and approachable
