We are currently looking for a Senior Program Manager to establish our office of compliance and accessibility. You will be supporting the Pluto TV product engineering team in developing and maintaining a suite of streaming media products across mobile, web, CTV, and STB devices, while being responsible for interpreting accessibility compliance standards, drafting and maintaining internal policies and processes, and partnering with outside vendors as needed for education, auditing, and remediation services.

In addition, once you have a general technical understanding of Pluto’s consumer applications and software development processes, you will document and improve the process for ensuring CVAA (Communications and Video Accessibility Act) compliance for all existing and new product releases, and work cross-functionally across engineering, product, program, and software test engineering to ensure we are delivering rapidly on high-value compliant products for our customers.

This individual will report to the Senior Director, Program Management and work as part of the larger program management organization, with the opportunity to build out a team of compliance authorities.

Responsibilities

This is a meaningful role with a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Preparing thorough and detailed reports on the state of CVAA compliance.
  • Establishing a baseline for GDPR and CCPA compliance while working closely with representatives from Viacom Legal and Product Compliance, and working with teams to establish remediation plans.
  • Drafting and presenting a series of internal controls to ensure CVAA compliance, gaining consensus from other groups in order to implement these controls.
  • Promoting compliance and accessibility within our suite of products by collaborating with product, engineering, and design teams to identify short-range and long-range issues.
  • Identifying and researching applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and controls, as well as translating those into policies for the organization. Delivering training to the organization when necessary.
  • Partnering with internal and external resources to perform periodic audits of our products against established controls. Identifying remediation actions and monitor their implementation based on audit findings.

Qualities / Experience We’re Seeking

We believe these are the key requirements to be successful:

  • 5+ years' experience working as a program manager, auditor, or compliance authority inside of a CVAA-compliant organization. Bonus points if you have experience in multiple compliance standards (i.e. COPPA, MPAA).
  • Authority in CVAA compliance, up-to-date not only on recent controls and legislation, but also on how organizations are implementing and following these standards.
  • Stays in touch with emerging standards by participating regularly in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
  • Highly analytical with strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP certification or relevant experience planning, executing, monitoring, and closing large cross-functional software development or media technology projects
  • Experience and familiarity drafting, monitoring, and tracking internal controls which adhere to government and industry compliance standards.
  • Experience advising senior leadership and C-level executives on compliance risks.
  • Experience using data to drive important business decisions.
