Whip Media Group is seeking a Project Manager to support the TV Time and TheTVDB development teams in delivering best-in-class products. With over 15M registered users, the TV Time platform allows consumers to keep track of the shows and movies they’re watching, discover what to watch next and interact with other fans. TheTVDB is an open-source community driven metadata solution that provides the metadata for TV Time and our CVMi platform. The site generates 30 billion API calls a month.

What Will You Do?

• Manage day-to-day activities and timelines using issue tracking software to ensure projects are progressing toward on-time delivery , across product, design, engineering, testing, analytics, user communication, etc. to enable short- and long-term goals
• Act as the gatekeeper for ticket quality, ensuring stories are actionable by engineers and able to be properly QA’ed, assisting in creating tickets when needed
• Protect the team from distractions and time wasters and enforce workflow rules, e.g.
  • Tune team meetings to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Prevent team member and stakeholders from circumventing the workflow standards
• Communicate comprehensive project plans with key stakeholders, both internal to the project, as well as external. Continually interact with contributors to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
• Optimize the product development process, making strategic improvements where applicable
• Develop documentation using planning software

What do you need?

• 3+ years experience in software development project management (native mobile apps, consumer web, internal tools, etc.)
• Agile experience – ACP, Scrum Master or similar designation preferred
• Proficiency with industry-standard software programs and applications is essential (i.e. Jira, Confluence)
• Proven ability to comprehend and digest complex technical concepts; you will need to have daily conversations with mobile, web, platform, QA and/or DevOps engineers
• Strong opinions about the “right” process but the willingness to adapt where necessary
• Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as advanced time management skills. You also must use critical and analytical thinking to effectively solve problems.
• Highly self-motivated to drive projects forward, keep teams and schedules organized, and operate under tight deadlines.
• Strong team-player sensibilities and a demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams
