Program Manager

Boingo Wireless is constantly developing new products and services for use with our worldwide network of hotspots, DAS, and Small Cells. We are looking for a seasoned Program Manager – DAS / Small Cell with experience managing the buildouts of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and/or in a variety of venue types including military and campus venues. The Project Manager will lead the cross-functional launch and change management of network buildouts, product, channel and partner requirements. The atmosphere we are working to achieve at Boingo is one of nimbleness and quick response to changing market conditions. At the same time, we need to follow best practices in program management, project management, launch management, account management, change management, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will have experience in program and field project management within the telecommunications industry. This role will cover the Southwest region. Boingo’s Program Manager will be given the opportunity to grow within the company and work with the latest technology each day.  

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally through network buildout, and project lifecycle
  • Understand business and technical requirements in order to define project scope, deliverables and delivery commitments
  • Coordinate with third-party clients, developers, customers, and business partners
  • Successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects using project planning techniques and (Microsoft Office, IBwave, Salesforce, Visio) through all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Proactively track deliverables and take action when they are missing or late
  • Drive project activities and develop and manage project status documentation and communications
  • Manage cost and schedule and make sound fiduciary decisions regarding project expenditures
  • As part of project status tracking and reporting, continuously assess project risk factors and recommend appropriate courses of action to mitigate
  • Lead and manage recurring partner requirements, service levels, reporting, change management quality assurance and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) including formal weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting requirements and meetings
  • Mentor other staff and collaborate as a member of technical sales support as needed.

 Requirements

  • 10+ years working experience as Program or Project Manager for consumer product projects in the telecommunications industry
  • Assume responsibility for driving and delivering multiple projects and releases for cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical aspects of network deployment, software development, product management and lifecycle operations
  • Proven track record in delivering large scale projects on schedule
  • Experience managing capital for multi-million-dollar project costs and expenditures
  • Strong project management skills, methodologies and analytical skills
  • Ability to drive all aspects of a product through the entire life cycle
  • Understanding of testing specfification within the DAS and Wifi environment
  • Exceptional account management experience of large partner/enterprise organizations
  • Sound business judgment and ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate team members
  • Diplomacy, tact and relationship building skills as well as ability to compromise
  • Ability to create and deliver effective presentations
  • Successful transition of the project to production support
  • Experience in the telecommunications / Internet industry preferred
  • Key carrier contacts in Southwest markets(Verizon, ATT, Dish, and TMO)
  • PMP certification desirable but not required
  • Regional travel required:  California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah.
  • BS Degree preferred
