We're looking for a Program Manager to join Snap Research!
What you’ll do:
Develop and maintain programs that accelerate innovation within Snap’s Research group
Independently and proactively identify and execute on opportunities for program and process improvement, anticipating and mitigating risks and automating tasks when possible
Facilitate the execution of research experiments and one-of-a-kind research projects by interfacing with other teams including Legal, Communications, and Privacy teams to guarantee data access, experiments, presentations, and publications follow the correct practices
Onboard new interns and full-time employees, introducing them to existing processes and providing any support necessary
Plan and manage the team’s finances, including academic conference and event sponsorship, funding of research collaborations, team travel, and the hiring and onboarding of contractors and vendors
Lead efforts that increase group cohesion and the collegial environment by organizing recurrent group meetings and social events
Manage the team’s internal and external presence. Responsibilities include keeping the website up-to-date with recent news and publications, planning posts to our blog, and handling press coverage.
Track and support research projects by leading efforts in progress documentation, data annotation, cost management, and external code licensing
Support research communications by proofreading scientific publications and rephrasing complex ideas in simpler terms that can be presented to non-technical audiences
Promote internal and external collaborations by connecting researchers to partners from product teams and universities by organizing workshops and similar events, proactively reaching out to potential partners, and leading the efforts around the Snap Fellowship program
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
Advanced knowledge of ticketing/documentation/project management tools like JIRA, Quip, or equivalent tools for managing projects
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to own processes end to end, ensuring they get executed efficiently and are improved when needed
Ability to manage ambiguity and come up with out of the box solutions for unique projects
Ability to document discussions and summarize ideas into documents, tickets, and sketches that can be shared with larger audiences
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
3+ years of experience leading highly-visible programs
Experience working with and influencing global cross-functional teams and senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of the following:
Experience communicating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company
Experience managing programs that span multiple teams, iterating quickly and adopting for scale
Track record of driving projects and programs from end to end independently
Experience working in research and development settings, preferably in an industry research lab
Experience automating processes using python, javascript, or a similar scripting language
