About the Role

As a Construction Coordinator at Industrious, you will be responsible for supporting the development and oversight of commercial interior projects from conception through construction and closeout. Your work will be critical to providing a productive and more connected workplace for startups, artists, writers and businesses around the world.

The Construction Coordinator will provide the required support to ensure projects meet quality, schedule, contractual, and budget goals. You will facilitate project communications with both external vendors and internal partners, maintain tracking schedules and cost reports, and help provide overall organization and consistency to the department.  In addition to supporting the execution of a suite of projects, the Construction Coordinator will have the opportunity to work across the entire construction department on initiatives and to ensure standard and shared processes are managed effectively.

This will be an engaging position requiring the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently, and confidence to work in a fast-growing and exciting new industry. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience within the construction or building design industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your support, organization and coordination skills and gain direct exposure into the real estate development, design and hospitality industries from the owner's perspective.

This role will be based in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:

The role will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Provide support to the construction team to help ensure consistent Delivery of quality projects on time and on budget.
  • Assist the team in all phases of projects including: handoff from real estate department, project kick-off, scheduling, design and construction administration, budgets, and coordinate all internal and external resources with subcontractors, vendors and consultants.
  • Provide support on all project communications - including RFIs, RFPs, submittals, invoices, change orders, punch-lists and all construction related documentation.
  • Regular follow up with project owners to ensure all project logs and tracking tools, including flow charts, checklists and templates, are consistently updated and maintained.
  • Work closely with Finance and Accounts Payable departments on TI tracking and invoice approval process.
  • Support team and individual member initiatives including cost saving practices, steam-lining systems, and creating new standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years in similar role supporting commercial interior, retail, or hospitality construction projects, from initial programming through construction completion.
  • Experience in creating bid packages, cost reports, contract templates and proposal preparation.
  • Proficient in creating and managing  documents, templates, forms and spreadsheets.
  • Construction Management or Engineering degree from an accredited institution a plus.
  • Proficient in Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Adobe Suite.

  • Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work both with in a team and independently.
  • Continually working towards developing and improving processes, systems and reporting for maximum efficiency, transparency, and consistency.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding requirements and expectations.
