WHY WE NEED YOU

  • Change Configuration Management (CM) is an essential pillar for evolving organizations to effectively manage the implementation of complex hardware, software, and system changes. This position requires strong senior level leadership, coordination, and collaboration of activities with other functional groups and project managers within a research and development environment. The change configuration engineer will be responsible for establishing, driving, and ensuring consistent and accurate configuration control throughout engineering lifecycle.  This person shall be the subject matter expert for all matters requiring configuration traceability in accordance with our Quality Management System

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Oversee configuration management planning, configuration identification, change control, software build management, and configuration status accounting, and configuration audit execution
  • Develop and implement the CM systems, processes, and procedures that will enable rapid product development
  • Utilize metrics to improve processes to ensure consistency and standardization across the company
  • Identify process gaps and provide suggestions for continuously improving the configuration management process
  • Participate in the preparation and coordination for design engineering readiness reviews
  • Participate in the planning, conduct, and report preparation of Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs)
  • Track software baselines to include licenses and maintenance agreements
  • Manage and facilitate the change control process, to include material preparation (kick off meetings, document action items, and distributing change notifications to IPT team) for the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Review statements of work (SOW) for applicable configuration management requirements
  • Develop risk mitigation protocols using Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Manage and maintain product release life cycle of Bill of Material (BOM) structures
  • Review and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), deviations, and reworks in concurrence with quality engineering
  • Ensures configuration management identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness, proper authorizations, and system updates
  • Maintain a repository to track and report on Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Change Requests (CR), and baseline analysis.
  • Maintain CM files, including configuration identification, change control and status accounting records
    Implement CM plans.
  • Regulate cross-functional change control boards to evaluate proposed changes and ensure only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software
  • Review and analyze proposed changes to ensure operational and sustainment capabilities are not adversely affected
  • Work closely with Program Managers, Systems Engineers, Quality Managers, Draftsmen, and Design/Manufacturing Engineers in an integrated product team environment
  • Recommend and document comprehensive configuration management plans for software, hardware, firmware, and peripherals for IT systems
  • Provides training and guidance on configuration management across all engineering verticals

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering).
  • CMTF Certified or equivalent certification program.
  • Experience with PLM/CAD tools – CATIA, Enovia, Teamcenter, Siemens NX is preferred
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems is preferred
  • Experience operating product lifecycle management tools such as Teamcenter, Siemens NX, etc…
  • Experience supporting high mix and low volume complex subsystems.
  • Experience operating within ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 – Systems and Software Engineering Lifecyle.
  • Extensive knowledge of GEIAHB649 – Implementation Guide for Configuration Management.
  • Extensive knowledge integrating and driving software configuration management lifecycles.
  • Established and incorporated and change control process using standards equivalent to ISO 10007
  • Experience working in an ISO9001, AS9100, and/or IATF 16949 shop floor environment.
  • Proficient with PC tools such as Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Project.
  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to grasp or manipulate objects with one or both hands.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use office equipment in the course of normal duties.
  • Ability to work on a construction site in hazardous conditions
  • Extensive traveling to test site (Las Vegas and future project sites) – 60%.
