Technical Product Manager at GoGuardian
What will I be doing?
- You will own the technical strategy, roadmap, and backlog for ensuring GG solutions work seamlessly and consistently across any device and operating system
- You will work closely with other PMs and developers to maintain consistent user experience, address top technological needs on all devices, and be the subject matter expert for all devices/platforms/clients used in K-12 space
- You will regularly conduct competitive technical capability analyses and assess emerging products to measure their potential value or threat to GoGuardian and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage
- You will substantiate recommendations with metrics that demonstrate impact/risk on our business and constantly define, measure, and share the success of your solution through both quantitative and qualitative measures
- You will work closely with design, developers, QA, and your fellow PMs to define a process that ensures ongoing support of functionality on all devices
- You’ll deeply understand the problems that your users are experiencing through research and interaction with customers, and then communicate those problems clearly back to your team
What skills do I need?
- You have 2+ years of experience of product ownership/management experience
- You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable speaking with both internal and external stakeholders
- You have a proven track record of engaging in technical conversations with developers and can switch to translate your highly technical solutions to non-technical internal and external stakeholders
- You have developed key performance indicators to measure success/impact of your work and can speak to decisions you’ve made to improve those metrics
- You substantiate any product decisions by proving, or disproving, their validity with experimentation and measurable results using qualitative and quantitative data
- You can clearly communicate the vision of your solutions, the roadmap, and the rationale behind them. You’re comfortable making decisions without consensus. You know when and how to equip other business units to further support your product and value product alignment
- You have an understanding of the technical architecture of complex & modern web applications. You’re able to tailor the level of technical communication based on the audience the room
- College degree preferred
Extra Credit
- A background in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Experience working on mobile and desktop environments
- Experience working within Google, Microsoft, iOS, Android, MacOS platforms (or any combination thereof)
