About the job

Appetize is looking for an exceptional Product Owner with a background in Point of Sale (POS) in a product capacity. As Product Owner, you will gather feature requests, write user stories and plan sprints in combination with project management and the development team. Experience with identifying user needs, helping customers understand business value and working with cross-functional teams to manage product releases is critical to success in this role. Equally important is the ability to deliver products that not only satisfy our user base, but products that contribute to making our company vision a reality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead one or more scrum teams as the Product Owner working closely with the Project Manager
• Provide product vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements / user stories and acceptance criteria
• Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared backlog to work on for each sprint
• Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
• Work with product managers to define the product roadmap for your products
• Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
• Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
• Work closely with Product Managers to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
• Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
• Follow our competitors and the industry
• Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years of Agile product management experience in a software development environment
• POS, Kiosk or Mobile Ordering system domain expertise preferred
• Experience with software tools such as Jira, Jira Portfolio and Salesforce
• Excellent teamwork skills including written and verbal communication skills and working with onshore and offshore teams
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. The ability to influence and work collaboratively with development teams is especially important.
• This position requires some travel to customer and prospective customer sites
• Ability to create and maintain a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition and mutual respect
