Do you sleep well at night with your reusable grocery bag, “Prius-only” Uber rides, and organic kale salad?  Or do you toss and turn because deep down you know that’s just not enough if we want to save our planet? If you want to be doing more, we want you on our team at Farm Dog.

Farm Dog reduces the use of pesticides on a global scale.  Our AI software platform helps farmers optimize their inputs, increase their yields, and promote environmental sustainability.  Our platform is being used on over 1.5 million acres, has powered more than 20,000 field visits by our users, and we have strategic and financial partnerships with John Deere, the USDA, and a multibillion dollar multinational that’s looking to us for guidance on how to make a difference.

We are seeking a Product Manager to take leadership of our product development and translate the company’s vision into an executable plan.  You will be given so much responsibility and influence at Farm Dog that in the Year 2075, your grandchildren will see your portrait in the National Gallery exhibit “These People Saved Our Planet.”

Responsibilities:

  1. Work directly with the CEO to translate the company’s vision into an executable plan, including strategy, product roadmap, features, and UI/UX of the platform

  2. Oversee and collaborate on product requirements with R&D, agronomists, and business folks, including product requirements, wireframes, specs

  3. Communicate closely and often with users, potential users, commercial partners, and other stakeholders in the industry

  4. Utilize analytics, strategic thinking, and sometimes crazy out-of-the-box thinking

  5. Work together with R&D to ensure that the product is built to your specifications and at the highest quality

About you:

  1. 3-5 years in a product management role, ideally including some time in an early stage start-up.  It’d also be great if you have experience in both a B2B and B2C context.

  2. Some background in agriculture, farming, agronomy, or anything else that can provide you strong intuition on product decisions

  3. Self-starter, logical, rational.  You like to fight for your ideas but know when to step down.

  4. Strong project management capabilities, including prioritization and 80/20 intuition

  5. Bonus

    1. Coding experience

    2. Invision and Photoshop

    3. Like dogs.

Be prepared for:

  1. International travel, sometimes odd hours.  R&D is based in Israel, but you will be in Los Angeles - 10 hour time difference.  That won’t stop us from building a strong, connected team. (Once every 2-3 months)

  2. Domestic travel, both in the car and flights.  We provide a platform for agricultural stakeholders.  Not too many farms around these parts… (Once every 2-3 weeks)

  3. Working initially in a small team.  Farm Dog was founded in Israel and the CEO is relocating to LA to help drive business development and sales.  You should be able to kick ass in a small unit and further along the way, on a larger team. Like former NBA players now playing in the Big3 Tournament, but in reverse

  4. Lots of responsibility and impact on the team, the product, and the future of agriculture.
