The Product team is looking for a Business Analyst to help support the creation and delivery of the features on the Product Roadmap. The ideal candidate is a curious and passionate self-starter who wants to use their talents to help make the healthcare system work better for everyone, including people who have trouble accessing care and navigating the complexities of the system. 

The Product team works to understand the needs of healthcare members, payers, and providers within our client base and in the broader healthcare market. Then we translate those needs into stories and requirements that can be brought to the Engineering team for solution design, estimation, and development. After development is complete, the Product team supports Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing and facilitates delivery of new features to internal and external customers.

Your day-to-day

  • Represent Product in attendance of all scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint demos, sprint retrospectives
  • Assist with managing the Intake Backlog, which includes processing new ideas for product changes and new features, new product offerings, and client-specific enhancements that are submitted from across the organization
  • Lead requirements gathering efforts for specific features including scheduling meetings with stakeholders to understand the business needs, documenting the business requirements, and facilitating grooming sessions with engineering to understand technical feasibility and assist with the creation of technical specifications
  • Assist with keeping the Product Roadmap up to date with all new features
  • Assist with analyzing and prioritizing the features within the backlog to determine what needs should be addressed first and keep stakeholders informed of prioritization decisions and estimated delivery timelines
  • Facilitate and participate in User Acceptance Testing including writing acceptance criteria and test cases and obtaining sign-off from stakeholders on new features prior to release
  • Assist with release planning including the creation of release notes, representing features at Change Acceptance Board meetings, and communicating recent releases to internal stakeholders
  • Help define and document Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable processes related to the Product Development lifecycle and enforce adherence to established processes to help the organization mature so that we can operate efficiently at scale
  • Participate in strategic initiative task teams to advance the big-picture or longer-term goals of the organization, which may involve carving out a limited amount of time each week to work on innovation or passion projects
  • Participate in the Annual Performance Evaluation Cycle process, which includes setting goals for yourself that align to the company’s broader initiatives as well as personal growth goals and regularly checking on progress towards those goals throughout the year
  • Stay up-to-date on mandatory compliance trainings and other trainings related to company policies and procedures
  • Support other departments such as Growth, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and others as needed

Your experience

  • 2 or more years experience in Product Development preferred (entry-level candidates may be considered with relevant internship or course experience)
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Experience writing business requirements and technical specifications
  • Experience facilitating QA and/or UAT testing
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, process flows, or other visual artifacts to support business requirements
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • A collaborative spirit and positive attitude
  • Attention to detail and the ability to understand nuanced requirements to create the best experience for a diverse user base
  • Project Management skills including the ability to create a project plan with a schedule and track adherence to the plan throughout execution
  • Time management skills, the ability to prioritize your workload, and the flexibility to be responsive to changes and emerging requests
  • A pragmatist that can work autonomously to move projects forward
  • A commitment to lifelong learning and continuous self-improvement
  • Familiarity with the Design Thinking model as a human-centered approach to innovation is strongly desired, as we often leverage tools and methods including jobs-to-be-done, creative ideation, personas, user journeys, user research, usability testing and more to understand problems and create the best possible solutions

This position will report to the VP or Manager within the Product department. This is a full-time remote position, although occasional travel opportunities may occur for events such as in-person team building, conferences, client visits, field research, etc.
