About the Director of Web at Headspace:

At Headspace, the Web team is responsible for bringing Meditation and Mindfulness to life on Headspace.com through compelling editorialized content and data-driven SEO strategies. The Director of Web is responsible for setting the vision and operationalizing development of Headspace.com; including leading editorial content strategy for Headspace.com.

A successful candidate must have a passion for our mission, product, and technology, with a strategic mind, and recent experience leading Web and/or SEO team(s), preferably at a mobile-app or subscription based company. They will have had a proven track record of cultivating and scaling teams and partnering with product, data science, and content teams on developing and implementing an editorial driven site. They will bring fresh ideas, a strong point of view, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:

  • Lead web development process for Headspace.com
  • Direct the editorial content strategy and manage the editorial calendar for owned marketing touch points (Web, CRM, some paid ads)
  • Develop long- and short-term strategy and pipeline for website
  • Determine channel-wide KPIs and performance goals
  • Lead web redesign project with external agencies and build a team to ensure in-house support
  • Set standards for design and content on Headspace.com in in partnership with Creative and Content teams
  • Develop web page infrastructure, utilizing applications or tools to ensure technical performance
  • Perform nav analysis and browser compatibility assessments, along with optimization recommendation
  • Provide quality control and guidelines for any third-party or partner content
  • Consult with and assist other business units in designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing sites
  • Document web dev processes and best practices for the org
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and company policies on web site usage, security, and standards
  • Ensure all content is up-to-date and on-brand
  • In conjunction with the Marketing team, develop go-to-market channel plans to support key business priorities and major campaigns

What you’ve accomplished:

  • 8+ years of working on a Web and/or SEO team at a mobile-app and/or subscription based company
  • 3-5 years experience in a management capacity
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills
  • Advanced knowledge of both technical and content SEO required 
  • Experience managing web agencies and in-house teams (front end, design, copy, etc)
  • Experience developing owned and omni-channel content strategies
  • Deeply analytical and data driven; proficiency with CPA, LTV, A/B testing, promotional strategy, attribution models, and cohort analysis
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written to clearly convey market dynamics, strategies, tactics, rationale and results, to peers, agency and executive stakeholders
  • Enjoy and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • A demonstrated track record of building consensus and delivering results
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, agile culture—someone who embraces and leads through change and ambiguity
  • Excellent relationship building skills and knows how to influence working teams and agencies
  • Flexible and versatile in nature, able to overcome challenges while maintaining a positive attitude

We're located in the heart of Santa Monica on Michigan + Cloverfield, just off the 10 freeway. Bergamont train station is right behind our office.
