Pressable is a leading managed WordPress hosting platform trusted by agencies, developers, and businesses with demanding performance and support needs. As part of Automattic, we bring deep WordPress roots and technical excellence to every customer experience. With strong momentum in the mid-market and agency segments, we’re looking for a Product Manager to help drive innovation, deliver value, and support continued growth.

About the Role
We’re hiring a Product Manager to help define and execute the product roadmap for Pressable. You’ll work closely with engineering, support, sales, marketing, and the broader Automattic ecosystem to deliver a best-in-class experience for WordPress developers and agencies. From idea to launch (and beyond), you’ll own product discovery, prioritize impactful work, and help us tell the story of what makes Pressable different.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and evolve the product roadmap based on customer needs, internal feedback, competitive landscape, and business priorities.
  • Customer Discovery: Talk to customers regularly to identify pain points and opportunities, especially among agencies, developers, and mid-market merchants.
  • Community Engagement: Actively engage with the WordPress and agency communities through direct customer conversations, industry events, podcasts, webinars, and networking groups.
  • Collaboration & Execution: Work closely with engineering to define requirements, clarify priorities, and ship high-quality features that deliver value.
  • Communication & Enablement: Partner with support, sales, and marketing to ensure new features are clearly communicated, well-documented, and positioned for success.
  • Measurement & Optimization: Use analytics, surveys, and feedback loops to validate impact, improve adoption, and guide future product decisions.
  • Content & Community Support: Write blog posts, record short videos, and contribute to public-facing feature explainers and competitive differentiators.

You Might Be a Fit If You

  • Have 4–6+ years of product management experience in SaaS or hosting.
  • Experience working in the WordPress ecosystem.
  • Are customer-obsessed, especially when it comes to understanding developer and agency needs.
  • Are comfortable working across multiple teams and communicating both asynchronously and in real-time.
  • Are hands-on, action-oriented, and comfortable with both strategic planning and execution.
  • Understand hosting, WordPress, and the needs of high-traffic or technically complex sites.
  • Enjoy turning customer pain points into elegant, scalable product solutions.
  • Thrive in both internal collaboration and external-facing conversations and events.

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with developer tooling, APIs, or infrastructure/hosting platforms.
  • Product marketing or technical writing experience.
  • Public speaking experience, or a desire to represent the brand in podcasts, conferences, or community discussions.

What You’ll Work On Initially

  • Collaborate with engineering on the 2025 roadmap and refine prioritization practices.
  • Improve how we communicate new features across blog posts, videos, and support documentation.
  • Build out a public-facing roadmap and customer feedback loop.
  • Help sales and marketing teams differentiate Pressable via competitive insights and compelling product storytelling.
  • Define the MVP for improvements to migrations, dashboards, and agency workflows.

Why Join Pressable?
You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of a growing product with real impact. You’ll work with a small, fast-moving team that values autonomy, clarity, and action—and you’ll do it all within the broader Automattic family.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
