JOB OVERVIEW:

The Product Line Leader III provides leadership over Product Management, Engineering and Program Management functions for his/her respective product portfolio. This role is responsible for all product planning and product development execution throughout the product lifecycle; gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements; defining the product vision and leading engineering to deliver winning products that support the company’s overall strategy and goals. This role works closely with Sales to ensure revenue growth, customer satisfaction and market share goals are met. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Assessment & Influence

·       Leverages a deep understanding of emerging market and technology trends, competitive actions and customer requirements to identify profitable growth for the Product Line opportunities

  • Assesses and influences the industry by maintaining relationships with key customers, those they serve, industry associations and others influential industry stakeholders

  • Leads, assesses and synthesizes regular Voice of Customer activities through on-site customer visits with the Sales team

·       Identifies, assesses and proves-out technical innovations that enhance the Product Line's position in the market

 

Commercial Support

·       Coordinates with customers and internal teams to support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) by ensuring products meet customer requirements, quality standards, and compliance regulations

·       Supports the planning and representation of Machine Solutions at industry trade shows to engage with customers and provide technical expertise and product demonstrations

·       Joins sales executives on customer visits to demonstrate the benefits and advantages of our solutions and to connect our value proposition to the customer’s business needs and objectives

·       Collaborates with Aftermarket team for equipment process and installation troubleshooting

 

Product Roadmap & Portfolio

·       Leads Market Requirement Events and determine the breadth and depth of the product offering with an emphasis on product performance, features, pricing and market position that results in significant market share gains

·       Leads cross-functional efforts (Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance) to translate requirements into prioritized innovation and/or product development initiatives that deliver sustainable, profitable market share expansion

·       Leads a global alignment process to define a global product roadmap that directs product development priorities

·       Defines a financial plan for the Product Line, including establishing 3-year growth and profitability (gross profit) goals.  Defining the role of each product's contribution to achieving the overall Product Line's financial target

 

 

Strategic Marketing

·       Develops effective Go-to-Market strategies in collaboration with our Marketing Leader that include clearly articulated unique selling propositions, positioning of the product in the market, competitive differentiation and pricing

·       Provides Sales with clearly defined high potential market expectations (segments, customers, regions) combined with associated promotional tools, assets and materials

·       Develops a customer specific marketing strategy by working with sales and marketing communications to support and promote new products and sales pursuits

 

Product Development

·       Establishes, applies and follows a structured process & methodology for New Product Development (NPD).  Manage the pipeline of projects at all stages of development from idea generation to product launch

·       Leads engineering teams in all new development projects including establishing design solutions, aligning resources, facilitating design reviews, building and testing

·       Ensures product roadmap and development process drive maximum standardization and re-use

·       Leads Program Management resources and activities resulting in successful execution of R&D projects with respect to delivering programs that hit target requirements, performance, cost, quality and are delivered on schedule

·       Directs Program Management related customer interfacing activities to ensure successful product launches, meeting customer expectations and building customer trust

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Product Line Leader III must be able to perform the duties of the Product Line Leader II satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

·       Minimum 8 years Product Manager, Business Development and/or Engineering leadership experience with proven track record in gaining market share and delivering growth that outpaces the market

·       Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field, Master’s degree preferred

·       Strong technical background/experience including partnering with Engineering teams across regions & disciplines and executing large & complex product development projects

·       Deep Industry and/or technical expertise in Medical Device or Medical equipment industries

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

·       Strong project management skills, including timeline management, resource allocation, and risk assessment

·       Proficiency in conducting competitive analyses, market research, and forecasting trends.

·       Proven ability to create and execute product roadmaps that align with business objectives

·       Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands of the role involve prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and engaging in repetitive hand movements for tasks like typing or writing. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds may be required. This role may also include frequent use of standard office equipment such as printers, copiers, and telephones. Good hearing and manual dexterity are essential for safely performing tasks and ensuring product quality. Vision requirements are the ability to adjust focus and identify and distinguish colors.   

The work environment for this role is primarily an office setting located near a manufacturing facility. While the office is climate-controlled and typically quiet, occasional exposure to noise, vibrations, or odors from the nearby production area may occur. Employees may need to enter the manufacturing floor occasionally, requiring adherence to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
