POSITION SUMMARY
The Paralegal is responsible for assisting the Legal Department in litigation and non-litigation tasks.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drafting basic legal documents
• Initial review of discovery response
• Gathering file material as requested by outside counsel
• Coordinating depositions of company personnel
• Preparing for and attending small claims court hearings (remote appearances)
• Monitoring litigation as requested by attorneys
• Maintaining roster of ongoing litigation
• Reviewing and ensuring timely and appropriate payment of legal bills and vendor fees
• Preparing analytic
• Monitoring pending and new legislation
SKILLS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Individual initiative and self-starter
• Organizational and multitasking skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• 4+ years of experience in a litigation practice
• California resident
• Bachelor’s degree
• Paralegal certification
• Familiar with the California Code of Civil Procedure
• Comfortable reviewing statutes and regulations
