FabFitFun is looking for a Logistics Manager to join our growing Operations team! The Logistics Manager will primarily assist teams at both our HQ and Fulfillment Center (FC) facilities with outbound parcel shipments to our members and day-to-day e-commerce operations; as well as provide volume forecasts to our carrier partners, develop cost plans by carrier and parcel type, audit actual costs and invoices, review delivery time status, coordinate with Finance to reconcile actual cost to plan, and coordinate with senior members of carrier partners for delivery timeliness, pickups, cost changes and other operational and financial matters. Very high visibility and accountability role!
Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a knack for creative problem-solving, experience in a data-focused role and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is based in our Los Angeles office but requires travel to our Chino warehouse as needed (typically once or twice monthly).
What You’ll Do:
- Support and steer the strategic transportation roadmap laid out by logistics leadership for outbound parcel operations.
- Manage parcel carrier relationships for day-to-day (pick-ups, trailer count, etc.) and long-term planning (weekly and seasonal forecasts)
- Own relationship with FFF FC shipping team, ensuring shipping team has all resources necessary to execute & identify, troubleshoot and resolve all problems that block execution
- Work with parcel carriers to coordinate, track and report on outbound shipments
- Use FabFitFun's Warehouse Management System (WMS) and SQL to pull monthly shipment data
- Gather, verify and manipulate carrier shipment & sales order data using SQL
- Analyze shipment data using Microsoft Excel Data Tables & Pivot Tables (filtering, sorting, grouping)
- Build, maintain and update cost models based on carrier split, box size and order type that can be used for financial forecasting
- Generate monthly and quarterly reports to assist in timely financial closes, explain any variances to budget and initially approve all invoices
- Assess and manage product contents for potential hazardous material or customs issues as they relate to outbound domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinate flow of required information for international parcel shipment clearance
- Define creative transportation solutions with a focus on process improvement through technology enhancements, efficient process design and automation capabilities
- Own carrier integration process as primary liaison between carrier technical teams and FFF technical teams for both manifesting, label creation and tracking data transfer.
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve all technology integration problems that occur between the carriers and FFF
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations and Fulfillment Center to manage and prioritize projects through the project cycle.
- Become subject-matter expert for all logistics related systems (Transportation Management System, Warehouse Management System, Enterprise Resource Planning, Business Intelligence etc.)
- Help logistics coordinator coordinate, track and report on domestic and international inbound shipments as needed
- Develop and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), vendor guidelines, routing guides and all other reference/training documents
- Support leadership in all process improvements and initiatives
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (in Supply Chain or Logistics a plus)
- At least 8 years of experience in a supply chain/operations role (direct experience with transportation/logistics a plus)
- Experience with at least two of the following: TMS, WMS, ERP, BI, SQL
- Experience in a variety of Data Analytics and Machine Learning platforms
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proven capability to juggle multiple projects and hit tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills including extremely high attention-to-detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Curiosity to keep track of trends in the rapidly changing logistics and transportation industry
- Professional certifications (CSCP, CTLD or similar) a plus
- Desire and aptitude to engage, often daily, with carrier operations and senior management in outbound truck scheduling, seasonal forecasts, diagnosis of carrier delays and solutions. Respectful of firm, data-driven and solution-focused engagement style.
