We’re seeking a Senior VoIP Support Engineer (Remote) to help us  define and deploy the companies' in-house IP telephone communication systems, including their software architecture and hardware components. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and managing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems within the company.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with Asterisk and OpenSIPs servers
  • Look up SIP captures and Dialplan issues in Asterisk/OpenSIPS
  • Dissect SIP traces down to the SDP level
  • Linux command line navigation and server based troubleshooting
  • Create and use packet traces on Linux servers
  • Analyzing existing VoIP networks and computer systems.
  • Troubleshoot WebRTC, perform end to end (PCAP) packet capture
  • Troubleshooting VoIP network issues.
  • Training staff on network and system protocols. 
  • Work with Carrier Relations
  • Onboard/Offboard carriers and troubleshoot carrier issues
  • Become an expert in Convoso network and voice topology
  • Manage SBC and LCR
  • Analyze VoIP traffic and set up alerts for quality of service.
  • Monitor carrier connectivity and setup alerts for connectivity issues
  • Set up and monitor alerts for PDD
  • Establish best industry practices for carrier management and VoIP configuration
  • Analyze current Convoso VoIP configuration to recommend improvements

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar field 
  • 8+ years of experience working as a VoIP/Carrier Support Engineer.
  • In-depth knowledge of VoIP systems and IP Protocols
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills VoIP and SIP
  • Experience with PCAP, anticipating issues by reading Network Packets, troubleshooting solutions, reading PCAP of voice calls and fully understand what’s communicated
  • Experience using VoiPMon to troubleshoot issues
  • Thorough understanding of SMS capabilities and carrier configurations
  • Excellent understanding of how to get the best quality of service for both audio quality and call completion
  • Familiarity with WAN and LAN systems.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 Carriers/vendors and managing Carrier Rate Decks.
  • Advanced Application Support experience in Asterisk and OpenSIPS
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Advanced Linux Experience required.
  • Excellent Data Analysis skills
  • Shell Scripting experience preferred.
  • SQL experience preferred.
  • Management or Lead experience is also a plus.
