As the Senior Manager, Partner Operations, you are responsible for making decisions that transform Outer’s end-to-end Supply Chain performance to curate the best customer service excellence via raw material, supply, and fulfillment planning. 


You will manage and collaborate with the Fulfillment and Importing Program Managers to create and execute strategies/decisions across key organizational stakeholders in order to enable Outer to responsively identify and resolve supply chain challenges. You will work to optimize forecasting, inventory positioning, and production planning.


This individual will also own the supply portion of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, as well as special projects and other supply chain and business strategy initiatives. 


As a leader of the team, you will collect cross-functional inputs from Demand/Purchase Planning, Marketing, and Product Development to synthesize data for process and business systems improvement. This person is a well-rounded individual who encompasses analytical, communication and leadership skills.


This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

What will you do? (Scope)

  • As part of the SIOP process, you will partner with the Purchase Planning team to collaborate on attainable supply plans across all value streams and ensure supply is available to meet demand requirements within the planning horizon
  • Deploy new Supply Chain process changes, templates, work on projects with other functions to account for organizational changes, etc

What will you do? (Leadership)

  • Directly manage the Fulfillment and Importing teams in the Supply Chain Division
  • Represent the Supply Chain function on Executive Leadership deliverables, including performance reporting, budget management, strategy contribution, decision-making, and communications

What will you do? (Impact / Success Measures)

  • Develop and govern the process with the Commercial Director, Finance, Product Development, Demand Planning and the Importing Program Manager through which production schedules and raw material plans are developed and managed within the value streams, including prioritization logic, constraint management, process controls and flex/buffer strategies to achieve importing OKRs with our Ocean Alliance vendor-partner while achieving company revenue goals, customer service goals, inventory and lean productivity goals.
  • Partners with the Importing Program Manager to assess working capital (Inventory) levels in order to achieve and/or surpass fiscal financial goals so that our factory-partner objectives/milestones and KPIs are met.
  • Partners with the Fulfillment Program Manager to complete routine rough-cut capacity network planning across all sales channels based on 18-24 months of regional demand, utilization rates, productivity assumptions and any strategic programs or events across 3PL locations.
  • Responsible for setting vendor-partner operational objectives and successful implementation, maintenance and execution of planning processes and initiatives across product collections and regions.
  • Collaborates with Engineering and Digital Product teams on developing cross-functional network platforms for order and fulfillment management that defines the customer delivery and journey experience with our external logistics partner platforms.
  • Achieve success through regular coaching, developing and the ability to motivate the team.
  • Facilitate monthly supply planning meetings and ensure gaps are clearly understood and communicated, and appropriate actions are in place to resolve
  • Fulfillment and Transportation partners on resolution across resources and constraints
  • Develop and execute inventory management strategies that support revenue growth, minimize risk of E&O for both finished goods and raw materials, while balancing inventory turns and availability goals
  • Participate in problem solving activities and drive back-order reduction efforts
  • Provide input and recommendation in improving supply chain strategies, policies and practices to achieve Best-in-Class Supply Chain Management practices

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business management discipline or related field
  • Certificates in the capacities of: CQIA,CQPA, PMP, and/or Six Sigma (CSS-BB,GB or YB) are a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in a relevant industry
  • 6-8 years of Supply Chain experience
  • Current managerial/leadership responsibility of a team of 5+
  • Furniture manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • eCommerce experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficiency in an Enterprise System, such as NetSuite, Acumatica or another major ERP system
  • Ability to build relationships across different parts of the organization: commercial, sales, marketing, product development, finance, engineering and manufacturing
  • Deep knowledge in planning processes: supply planning, new products introduction, material and fulfillment planning and SIOP processes
  • Competency/fluent in Mandarin is a plus
  • Data analysis via SQL, R or Python is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, including solid presentation skills
