As a Sr. Broadcast Engineer with Riot Games you will join a team of industry leading engineers responsible for the performance of all broadcast equipment at our flagship Los Angeles Esports production studio. The Sr. Broadcast Engineer role is dedicated to providing customer focused technical support, systems integration and hardware maintenance of our studio's cutting edge broadcast technology. This position works closely with the Esports Live Production, Broadcast Production Management and Technical Operations teams to support both on-site and remote event productions. We are currently seeking engineering talent experienced with studio, transmission, and IP workflows ready to push the technical boundaries of traditional sports broadcasting to captivate and inspire our Esports fans worldwide.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Broadcast Engineering
• Working knowledge of broadcast and IP networks within a LIVE production facility
• Must be proficient with broadcast test and measurement equipment
• Experience with the movement of uncompressed and compressed audio/video through SDI, fiber, and routed IP based networks
• Configure/operate audio routers, intercom matrix and audio consoles in a LIVE studio environment, as well as expertise in audio signal flow in indoor/outdoor venues
• Understanding of color correction concepts and techniques
• Experience with MADI, AAC, Dante and AES67 audio standards and codecs
• Experience with SMPTE 12M TC, UDX converters, frame syncs, matrix based communications systems, and video and audio routing systems
• CAD/Vectorworks/Visio proficiency; ability to create/update drawings to keep infrastructure diagrams up to date
• Experience working on Windows, Linux, and Mac based systems at the CLI
• Ability to adapt/learn quickly in changing technical environments
• Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships and efficiently address customer demands while building trust
• Willingness to work long hours during the week, weekends and some holidays
• Position could require 25% travel, both domestic and international

Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, equipment upgrades, and calibration of broadcast hardware/software
• Complete problem analysis and resolution of graphic servers, server-based record and playout systems, encoders/decoders, SDI and IP based video routers/switchers, fiber optic transport, and digital audio networks
• Implement repair of audio & video production equipment, including repairs at the system and board level with manufacturer support
• Use vendor-specific system software (i.e. Evertz, Riedel, Studer, GV, Lawo, etc.) to fulfill operator route and configuration requests
• Plan/prioritize under time constraints and work successfully in a fast-paced LIVE production environment
• Commitment to technical documentation; ability to work collaboratively in the Google/DropBox environment for outside events
• Innovate and implement new broadcast technologies, systems and workflows
