Senior Trust & Safety Specialist
Grindr is seeking an experienced Trust and Safety specialist to join our Customer Experience team. Whether directly engaging with our users, surfacing problems to our technical teams, driving analytical insights, or liaising with the moderation team, you'll help make Grindr a safe and authentic environment where our millions of users can thrive.
In this role, you will be a well-informed subject matter expert in online trust and safety policy and moderation at a tech company. You will help to guide our moderation team and serve as an internal point of contact for Trust and Safety policy and procedure. You will report to the Senior Director of Customer Experience and work closely with the Trust and Safety Program Manager, who oversees our T&S program as a whole.
Here's what you'll get to do:
- Respond and resolve complex and sensitive user issues related to fraud, privacy, user safety, and risk
- Review content including profiles, photos, and messages
- Conduct investigations using SQL queries
- Craft sensitive and empathetic responses via social media, app reviews, and email
- Serve as a point of contact for vendor inquiries and internal escalations about the moderation process, our terms of service, and our community guidelines
- Work with cross-functional partners to identify and escalate user issues and trends, and help create solutions
- Help create training materials and guides for the moderation team
Here's what we're looking for:
- A passionate LGBTQ+ advocate with a deep understanding of global internet norms and interactions
- Able to work in a rapidly-changing industry and tolerate ambiguity while seeking to minimize uncertainty through fair enforcement of policy
- A self-starter with great judgement and the ability to problem-solve complicated scenarios, both independently and with peers
- Comfortable with collaboration across a globally distributed, multicultural team
- Prior experience (4+ years) in a customer facing role related to trust & safety at a medium-to-large web platform or app company.
- Demonstrated ability to research issues, recognize patterns, prioritize, and escalate high risk issues
- Experience and comfort handling high risk and sensitive content
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Bonus for:
- Multilingual, especially Spanish or Portuguese
- Experience working for a dating app
