The Procurement Manager is responsible for the purchasing and commitments business processes at ReachLocal. The candidate must be flexible and be able to multitask across a variety of job duties, including:
Be the business owner of purchasing. Responsible for defining purchasing policy, processes and procedures
Manage the entire procurement processes within authorized limits for all assigned commodities, including IT hardware and software and services arrangements (solicit bids, quotation analysis, contract negotiation/flows and purchase order processing)
Communicate and resolve lead time, delivery, quality and pricing issues. Manage receiving of purchased items process
Develop and manage key supplier relationships. Conduct supplier visits/evaluations to determine suitability and to make recommendations for improvement. Research new sources of assets, processes and suppliers and make recommendations
Work closely with the (i) Accounts Payable team to ensure operational effectiveness is met throughout the entire purchasing cycle, and (ii) Financial Systems team to ensure objectives are met to streamline the purchasing cycle
Review and model vendor costs to meet cost saving objectives, eliminating unnecessary vendors and sourcing cost savings opportunities.
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley objectives and controls
Accurate and timely reporting
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or related field), or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, including the bid process, compliance with procurement requirements, vendor negotiations and system implementation.
Experience in a startup environment, including working in the Internet or Media industry in a shared service environment for a company having +1500 employees is highly desirable
Excellent quantitative skills and technical aptitude: fluency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Oracle Financials including iProcurement (a major plus).
