Aerospace is seeking a strategic, innovative, and driven leaderforSpectrum Warfarecapabilityintegration, encompassing Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and Satellite Communications (SATCOM),within the Space System Architect Division.
The Principal Director for theSpectrum Warfaresubdivision is responsible for leading and managing Aerospace efforts in support of, and advising customer leadership of, theSpace Systems Command (SSC) Space Systems Architect (ZA)Spectrum Warfare capability integrationorganization (SSC/ZACS).The Principal Director aligns under the Assistant General Manager for theCapability and PlansPortfolio.
Thework program includesfuturearchitecture development acrossthe PNT and SATCOM areas; road mapping the development, acquisition, and delivery of these capabilities in a manner that leverages and enhances enterprise capabilities; planning for adoption of industry innovation, science, and technology; establishing resource needs; and ensuring integration and transition to operations for the constituent elements of this architecture.
This position requires strong collaboration acrossSSC, Space Development Agency (SDA),Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO)and withother acquisition, force design and requirementsagenciesto evaluateand integratenew concepts, architectures, resiliency initiatives, requirements, and technology investments.The selected candidate will be expected to provide proactive support to the customer and cultivate productive working relationships in a fast-paced multi-organizational and multi-contractor environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and managing Aerospace support to SSC/ZACS(Spectrum Warfare), including remote personnel
- Building and sustaining a diverse and highly capable workforce through hiring, staff performance reviews, career development, and mentoring,
- Setting organizational and guiding individual goals and direction, monitoring progress and providing feedback for staff development,
- Providing proactive support to customers to identify high value work for the sub-division, translating customer requests into technical priorities and planning and managing the team accordingly, and
- Recommending budgets, allocating resources, establishing priorities and ensuring execution to plans and commitments.
- Partner with the SSC/ZACSleadership team with a focus on future architectural concepts, technology development, innovation, and acquisition/resource planning for Position, Navigation, and Timing; Satellite Communications;andSpectrum Warfare,
- Providing technical leadership within teams of Government, Aerospace, support contractors, and other FFRDC personnelto monitor mission area efforts, identify technical and performanceintegration risks, and develop strategic roadmaps,
- Generatinganalysis and advisingon acquisition strategies and program decisions effecting future architectures and operational integration to ensure successful delivery of warfighting capabilityin a manner that increasing adopts enterpriseand converged approaches, and
- Reportingon the organization's activities, progress, and achievements through written and oral reports.
- Moderate level of travel may be required
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of relevant professional engineering/scientific experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or an appropriate technical discipline
- Strong customer communication skills required to effectively engage customers and build a beneficial relationship
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with agility and collaboration
- Ability to make time-critical mission success decisions with ambiguous or incomplete data
- Proven track record of seeking out diverse perspectives when creating business strategies. Looks for opportunities to synchronize across organizations on strategy development
- Experience inspace acquisition
- Active top-secret/SCIclearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

- 15 or more years of progressively responsible professional engineering/scientific experience
- Advanced technical degree in engineering, science or math
- A strategic vision for how you would transform the organization to outpace threats
- Experience inconcept development, architecture studies, and evaluation of resiliency initiatives
- Experience operating across multiple security compartments
