The Senior IT Manager will manage all day-to-day IT operations, and will work to establish and maintain strategies that ensure scalability and security as UpKeep continues to grow. You have a proven background in maturing and running IT systems and security policies in support of company growth. You will own and implement all general IT and company security policies and procedures working alongside various department leads. Our ideal candidate will be able to assist in creating the company’s IT strategy, own and drive initiatives, and support staff on solving technical issues quickly and efficiently.

IT Operations

  • Manages day-to-day IT Operations for a hybrid workforce, supporting remote and in-office teams
  • Provides hands-on support to employees on a wide variety of day-to-day issues
  • Manages Support & Automation Applications in a macOS, including but not limited to Munki, JAMF (or other MDM), Anti-Virus, and Backup Configurations
  • Purchases & manages IT inventory and fixed asset tracking
  • Provisions and maintains local and SaaS-based user accounts including but not limited to Google G Suite, Slack, Zoom and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Collaborates with the Operations Manager to onboard and offboard employees and contractors from various software accounts during the onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Collaborates with the Operations Manager to distribute and receive company laptops during onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Troubleshoots network, VPN, and connectivity issues
  • Leads IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
  • Project manages office IT infrastructure build-outs and consolidation strategy
  • Assists in Conference Room A/V setup, architecture, and support
  • Maintains system documentation and configuration data for operating, regulatory, and audit purposes

Security & Compliance

  • Provides technical and quality oversight regarding IT risks, controls and technologies, including ongoing risk assessments, risk decisions, control implementation, evaluation of segregation of duties, and process improvement opportunities
  • Collaborates with Tech Ops on IT Risk Management, IT Vendor Risk management, and the ongoing evaluation and updating of IT Policies, procedures, SOPs, flowcharts, data flow diagrams, and narratives
  • Facilitates the review of third-party SOC and GDPR reports and partners with our Product & Engineering and People + Finance teams to ensure relevant third party service providers are aligned with data security requirements
  • Coordinates and manage the execution of internal and external data security and compliance audits, including planning and coordinating walkthroughs, and testing of IT general controls, application controls, and key system generated reports
  • Evaluates and ensures remediation of identified IT related control deficiencies in a timely manner
  • Reviews system implementations to assess risks and potential impact to the key data security and compliance policies
  • Participates in recurring Data Security and Compliance Committee meetings


  • 5+ years of experience working in IT operations with demonstrated experience leading a hands on IT function at a rapidly growing company
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of Apple Mac troubleshooting principles is necessary
  • Strong understanding of Apple Mobile Device Management (MDM) software tools
  • Understanding of IT security principals including "least privileged" access, data governance, etc.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized approach
  • A customer service orientation with the ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with requirements for SOC 2 and GDPR
  • Must be a self-starter with experience managing IT projects and delivering results
  • Ability to seek proactive solutions to difficult situations
  • Experience with Compliance, Security Audits, Vulnerability and Penetration Testing
